In 2015, Daily Mail,
a UK based media outlet, reported strange and eerie sounds that people in
various areas around the world claim to have heard in the sky There is no
sound scientific explanation to them, nor can they be traced to a specific
source.
The sounds range
anywhere from sounding like metal grinding against metal, an orchestra warming
up for a symphony, or the blowing of a trumpet, but most of the
sounds recorded do not distinctly sound like a trumpet. Daily
Mail lists a number of video clips and links to the recordings of the sounds by
various individuals from different places around the world who insist that they
are not a hoax.
Many possible theories
are listed in the Daily Mail article, but none of them are able to adequately
explain the strange sounds. What they do bring to mind to some professing
Christians are the rapture (1 Cor. 15:51-54, 1 Thess. 4:16-17) and the
seven trumpets that commence various different but limited judgments throughout
the first half of the Tribulation (Rev. 8-9).
But if anyone thinks
that these strange sounds have anything to do with the rapture, they do
not. Firstly, when the rapture does take place, the trumpets that are
sounded will be heard worldwide by all the saints, along with the shout of an
arc angel These particular sounds are heard only in certain places.
They have not been heard by the entire world, nor were they ever accompanied by
the shout on an arc angel. Furthermore, not all of the people who heard
and posted the recordings of these strange sounds were Christians. And
finally, when the trump does sound, all the saints will be taken up to Heaven
to meet Jesus Christ who will come to retrieve His people. As written in
the scriptures, the dead in Christ will rise first and we who are still alive
will be caught up with them. These sounds have been allegedly heard over
a space of a decade by only a handful of individuals. The trumpets
associated with the rapture will not take a span of ten years to complete, but
will happen in an instant.
So far while this
strange phenomenon has been going on, the Christians have not yet been
raptured. They are still here and the remains of saints who have passed
on are still in their graves, but when the trumpet announcing the rapture
sounds, the saints will be taken up.
They are not the
trumpets associated with the first half of the Tribulation either. There
are only seven trumpets which sound off within roughly a three year span (give
or take). These sounds have been heard for roughly a span of ten
years. The number of incidences, except for the posted video excerpts was
not mentioned. And as far anyone can recall, no plagues of supernatural
proportions were poured out upon the world when these sounds were heard, but
when seven trumpets sound, plagues will be sent upon the earth to punish
mankind for having rebelled against their Creator.
So before anyone jumps
to any conclusions upon listening to the recordings of these strange noises,
best to carefully examine the scriptures and compare the context thereof with
the information on these strange sounds reported by those certain media
outlets.
What these sounds do
bring to mind is a passage from the Gospel of Luke which states that in the
last days "fearful sights and great signs shall there be from
heaven." (Lk. 21:11). If indeed these sounds are a real phenomena
and not a hoax, it is but another sign that we are in the last days as foretold
in scripture, but that doesn't mean that the end is yet here, but we are
nearing that time.
