Contender's Edge To Retain Its Name After Consulting Both Copyright And Trademark Offices And Doing More Searches On Their Databases But Still Asks For Prayer And Guidance Concerning Its Title

After consulting both copyright and trademark offices and doing a search in their database, Contender's Edge does not appear to be in danger of infringing on any trademarks or copyrights.  In fact, the blogsite title has received an official copyright registration.

Nevertheless, there are misleading search engine labels that readers and potential followers of the blogsite do need to be made aware of that Contender's Edge did discover:



1.  Search engine labels have given the deceptive appearance of WWE videos appearing to be associated with a Contender's Edge.  After doing some research, while there is a WWE wrestler who goes by the stage name Edge, there is no one who goes by Contender's Edge.

2.  Another search engine label also gave the misleading appearance of there being a music album called Contender's Edge.  There is an album called "Edge" produced by a little known music group called "The Contenders", but nothing going by the name, "Contender's Edge."

3.  And finally, another search engine label gave the appearance of Amazon putting a promotional a "Contender's Edge" sale.  After looking into this, it turned out there was nothing of the sort.  Just another misleading search result.



The Google search engine has been especially notorious for search engine labels that do not appear what they seem to be, but it can happen on any search engine which is why whenever doing a search, in order to find out if something is what it appears to be, dig beneath the surface.

The current title for this blogsite was inspired by none other than the following passages of scripture relating to its mission and objectives:




Deuteronomy 8:3, Matthew 4:4:  "man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord doth man live."


Deuteronomy 30:12-14:  "It is not in heaven that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?  Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say,  Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, that we may hear and do it?  But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it." 


Acts 17:11:  "These...searched the scriptures daily [to see] whether these things were so."


2 Corinthians 10:4:  "For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds; Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ."


1 Thessalonians 5:21:  "[Test] all things; hold fast to that which is good."


2 Timothy 3:16:  "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness; That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.


Hebrews 4:12:  "For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."


1 Peter 3:15:  "be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you..."


1 John 4:1:  "Beloved, believe not every spirit but try the spirits whether they are of God..."


Jude 3:  "earnestly contend for the faith."



This author has been searching out other title options if he should decide that keeping the current title could harm the reputation of this blogsite in the event that any detractors might attempt to use the recently discovered developments to discredit the site despite the fact that those developments have already been addressed.  

This is something that I have been wrestling with and am not sure exactly what the best direction would to take at this time, but if I do decide to change the title, the change will be announced, but for now, Contender's Edge will continue to pursue the very objectives and mission for which it was established.

I am willing to consider any input from readers which could help me to determine what to do next.  Changing or modifying a title is not a decision I can take lightly since Contender's Edge already has a presence on other platforms.

Even if Contender's Edge were to decide to change or modify its title so as to minimize confusion and guard its reputation, it would take time for that change to be reflected on other platforms since it can be very difficult to change usernames in those venues.

But prayers and thoughts on the matter would be greatly appreciated so that I might do whatever is necessary to preserve the integrity of this site.  I do not wish to make any changes that are not necessary, but at the same time, I am willing to make whatever changes are necessary.
