Most have heard of the scientific fields of biology, zoology, botany, chemistry, astronomy, paleontology, geology, minerology, and meteorology, but there is a scientific field, and even a word, that most of have never heard of because it is not deemed scientific by the scientific and academic establishments because its framework is based upon a belief about the origins of life that opposes the naturalistic creed of evolution that has dominated the scientific establishment for nearly two centuries.
That field of science is called Baraminology. It is a scientific field that was established in 1941 at the beginning of the Young Earth Creation movement by Frank Lewis Marsh, who was considered to be one of the leading founders of the modern Young Earth Creation Movement. [1-3] The coining of the term was inspired by two Hebrew words; "Bara" meaning created [4] and "Miyn" which means "kind." [5]
It is founded upon the Genesis account of creation where it was stated that God created all things to reproduce after their own kind. (Gen. 1:11, 21, 24-25) Creationists do not deny that variations within each kind of plant and animal can arise as evolutionists have often accused them of doing, but what they do deny is that the variational changes, which also include adaptive traits to a specific environment, would ever lead one kind of plant or animal to give rise to another different from itself.
Whereas evolution teaches that all life arose from a single ancestor, Young Earth Creationism teaches that all life arose from separate different ancestors; dogs from dogs, cats from cats. Creationists have tried to determine what the first ancestors might have been on the basis of documented cases of different sorts within each animal kind interbreeding with one another by nature and producing viable fertile offspring, but even then, the debate as to what their common ancestors might have been still has not been settled due to the fact that we cannot reproduce the first animal ancestors, just as evolutionists cannot reproduce what they believe to be the first common ancestor of all life.
When Baraminology was first conceived, it was known as Baramin, [1-3] but in fairly recent years, was then officially called, Baraminology and to better clarify and define Baraminological discourse, a number of sub-definitions were introduced:
A specific grouping of living creatures not necessarily related to one another yet may have some characteristics in common with one another that they may not share with another grouping. apobaramin may be a term useful in distinguishing mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, insects, Arachnids, fish, and other major groupings from one another. Each of these groupings may be defined as an apobaramin.
Holobaramin:
A subgrouping within an apobaramin. For example, mammals may be called an apobaramin, but within that apobaramin are canines, felines, rodents, equines, bovines, primates, etc. all of which could be called a holobaramin.
Monobaramin:
Within each holobaramin is a monobaramin. For example, if canines are a holobaramin, then monobaramins would consist of wolves, coyotes, foxes, and of course, domestic dogs in all their varieties, but not all monobaramins are necessarily descended from one another as noted by Creation Wiki. [6] For example, squirrels, beavers, mice, rats, guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils, nutrias, and caypabaras are all members of the rodent holobaramin, but each one is a monobaramin subgroup but that does not mean that they all share a common ancestor; most of them most of them did not.
There has been debate amongst creationists, however, as to whether all monobaramins of certain holobaramins are descended from one another. Two such examples of such debates have to do with the origins of the different kinds of cats, and goats and sheep. Some creationists maintain that goats and sheep both share a common ancestor similar to both, but others will contest that they were created as separate kinds; the same going for the different species of cats.
Polybaramin:
Useful for simply defining mankind, animal kind, and plant kind. A grouping of life forms not related to one another in any way, shape, or form. For example, a dog, duck, and a turtle could be called a polybaramin. Each one is a holobaramin containing at least one or more monobaramins within themselves.
A tree, a fungus, and a vine, as it pertains to plants, would also constitute a polybaramin. Each one within the polybaramin may contain within themselves at least one monobaramin or more.
What sets humanity apart from the rest of the polybaramins is that mankind is not just a polybaramin, but also a holobramin with every monobaramin within it tracing its origins back to one man and one woman: Adam and Eve.
Every other polybaramin contains within its self holobaramins unrelated to one another and each holobaramin containing monobaramins that might also not share a common ancestor.
Some lesser known classifications were introduced by Young Earth Creationist, Kurt Wise; [7] They are called Archaebaramin, Neobaramin, and Paleobaramin.
Archaebaramin:
Consisting of presently living creatures.
Paleobaramin:
The ancestors of presently living creatures who were overall the same as their descendants but may have differed from them in small variational ways. For example, the Auroch, an extinct Bovine, is believed to be the ancestor of domestic cattle. In this sense, the Auroch could be considered a paleobaramin whereas domestic cattle could be called a neobaramin.
But the scientific principles guiding Baraminology are not necessarily unique to the Young Earth Creation movement, but are derived from a taxonomic classification system founded by Swedish naturalist Carl Linnaeus, sometimes called Carolus Linnaeus, to whom Young Earth Creationists have looked. He has been called the father of what is known today as Taxonomy. [8-9]
The Linnaen taxonomic classification is as follows:
Kingdom:
Defines different realms of life. The two basic kingdoms according to this model would be the plant and animal kingdoms.
Phylum:
Divides living things between vertebrates and invertebrates. Invertebrates being animals without skeletal structure whereas vertebrates being animals with a skeletal structure.
Class:
Classes defining the major animal groups which consist of mammals, birds, reptiles, etc.
Order:
Subgroupings within the major groups. Dogs, cats, and bears are of the order of Carnivora whereas animals such as sheep, goats, deer, antelope, cows, etc. are of the Artiodactyl order.
Family:
Subgroupings within orders. For example, Canidae is a family that consists of wolves, foxes, and the domestic dog, as well as a few other species.
Genus:
As Canidae is a family subgroup within an order within a class within a phylum of the animal kingdom, so a genus is a subgroup within the Canidae family and all other families within the animal kingdom. Wolves are called a genus of the Canidae family, just as Bighorn sheep are a genus of the Ovid family.
Species
These are variations within a genus which exist in most genuses. Even the different breeds of domestic animals such as dogs, cats, chickens, and so forth could qualify as a species.
It does need to be noted that Conservapedia, while a fairly reliable source, inaccurately included Domain in the Linnean taxonomic system. [10] Domain was never originally a part of the system but was added long after the Linnean taxonomic system was conceived and established.
The Linnaen taxonomic system has been long used by both the evolutionist ruled scientific establishment and the Young Earth Creationist movement as a classification guide, but has undergone many changes since its inception and is now interpreted largely from an evolutionary framework, to which Linnaeus would have likely opposed since he regarded the Genesis account of creation as history. [8, 9, 11]
The Linnaen classification system is by no means without its flaws which have been exploited by the evolutionists. For example, Linnaeus classified men as primates [12] even though he did not necessarily believe humanity to have descended from monkeys or apes. It is one classification soundly rejected the Young Earth Creation community but the taxonomy system of Linnaeus has nonetheless served as a model for the establishment of the Baraminology system; the Young Earth Creation community not necessarily seeing the Linnaen classification system as being at odds with the Genesis account of creation, but have taken issue with evolutionists misapplying the system which was never designed to propose any kind of evolutionary theory nor disprove the existence of God, nor discredit the Genesis creation account since Carl Linnaeus believed whole heartedly in a Creator and had no reason to doubt the Genesis account of creation.
There was a time when science was not viewed as being in conflict with belief in a Creator nor with the Bible and many pre-Darwinian scientists and naturalists testified to seeing the glory and handiwork of God in nature. Science was never used to reconstruct the past nor intended to predict the future. It was established to study the present workings of the natural world, but upon the publishing of On The Origin Of The Species by Charles Darwin, a paradigm shift began to take place within the scientific community and throughout the world.
It was in Darwin's best known work that what is now known as evolution was proposed as a means by which life arose without the aid of a Creator and it quickly overtook the scientific and academic establishment and became the dominant basis for all scientific study and has been instrumental in shaping the thinking of multitudes.
Because of evolution, science, instead of an instrument used to reveal and declare the glory of God, became an instrument to discredit the existence of God, being taken beyond the simple study of the present workings of the natural world to teaching history and predicting the future. It has been relied upon as an explanation for virtually everything, even to the point that if something cannot be scientifically explained or proven, then it must not be so. This damning way of thinking has not only affected the unchurched, unbelieving world, but it has also infiltrated and poisoned the ranks of the body of Christ because many professors of the faith have, like the unbelieving world, unquestioningly bought into the claims of the evolutionists and have been led by many of its leaders to believe that scripture and evolutionary teachings, falsely advertised as science and can somehow be harmonized, being themselves deceived into thinking that the Word of God is only authoritative in the spiritual and moral matters but not in matters pertaining to nature and the history of the universe when scripture was meant to be authoritative in all that it addresses. It is just as authoritative in earthly things as it is in heavenly things, but as the Lord Jesus has said, "If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?" (Jn. 3:12)
And yet many within the body of Christ have been led to adhere to opposing doctrines because they have been led to believe that incompatible elements can somehow mix together, but try as many leaders, scholars, and theologians have done, that which they attempt to mix together will join together because they are attempting to mix together darkness and light thinking that they can produce some resolution to that which has been an intellectual challenge to the faith, but such a resolution has not brought any satisfying answers needed to strengthen faith that has been weakened or to restore that faith which has been lost due to the lies that have led many of those who once professed Christ to either question or abandon the faith altogether because how can any faith strengthening and faith-protecting answers be provided, when they to whom we look within the Church to provide those answers do not have full confidence in the authoritative scriptures by which the Gospel is delivered in the first place? Even though they claim the Bible to be divinely inspired of God, they only see it as authoritative in some aspects but not in others and feel that where scripture appears to conflict with what is advertised as science, they must somehow reinterpret the scriptures to harmonize them with that to which they otherwise have no answer, but our enemies and the skeptics know very well that this is a failure.
Even congregants, including those raised within the Church know that there is a disconnect between scripture and the "science falsely so called" (1 Tim. 6:20) that which many within the Church leadership and those of influence among us have tried to harmonize.
Because they have placed such blind faith in the knowledge and wisdom of those who have professed themselves to experts in their field and have made themselves out to be well educated (and they may very well be in their own rite), rather than take the very foundation upon which all of scripture, including the Gospel rests, at its word and accept its account of origins as an actual history, they now claim that our universe must somehow have a longer history than what scripture says. They even go so far as to say that God did not create the earth in six days as He has declared (Gen. 1, Ex. 20:8-11) and as a consequence, they adhere to and even teach a doctrine that attacks the Gospel of Christ by attacking the most foundational reason for why Christ came into the world to redeem us.
In order to understand the redemption of man, you have to understand what brought about his fall and in order to understand what brought about his fall, you have to understand what state he was in and what the world was like before the fall. The reason why we are given the creation account is not only so that we would know how life originated, but also why it is presently in the fallen, corrupt, and cursed state that it is now, in order that we might be better able to understand the purpose and reason for the remedy that comes from Christ alone.
But every teaching that has subjected the history of our origins to anything other than an event that actually happened has aided in attacking the very reason for why Christ came to die on the cross and be raised from the dead and when that very reason is discredited, so then is the rest of scripture thrown into question and with it, the Gospel itself which the scriptures were made to deliver to us.
But it is only by accepting the Genesis account of creation and the fall of man, that we then can best understand and accept the reasoning for why Christ came to die and be raised again. According to a literal rendering of Genesis, neither death, grief, misery, suffering, sorrow, nor the pains, adversities, and hardships that presently exist today were in existence before the creation of man, but after man was created, he was told three things:
1) Be fruitful and multiply, (Gen. 1:28) just as He made all other things to.
2) Subdue and rule over the entire earth. (Gen. 1:26, 29)
3) Do not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil lest you die. (Gen. 2:16-17)
And it was the command to not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil that was broken and it was in that day that sin entered into the world and everything changed. (Gen. 3) Now we all know that the first man, Adam and his wife Eve, from whom we all descend, did not die immediately after eating that forbidden fruit, but they did die eventually. And the Apostle Paul affirms this fact in his Epistles to the Romans in which he states that sin came into the world through Adam and with it death and because sin passed from Adam to all of man, we all die because we all sin (Rom. 5:12) which is why it is written, the wages of sin is death (Rom. 6:23) but not only was death brought into the world by sin, the creation itself fell under a curse which is why it is written that it groans and travails in pain. (Rom. 8:22)
But Christ came to eliminate sin, death, and the curse, beginning with the redemption of our souls which are stained with sin, restoring to us fellowship with the Father that was severed by the sin of Adam, and with the redemption of our souls, will come the redemption of our bodies, (1 Cor. 15:51-55) and eventually a creation in which there is no death, no sin, nor any curse (Rev. 21-22)
But every attempt to reinterpret scripture in light of the fake science that has been systematically propagated has led to a denial of death being a consequence of sin and the curse as a result of Adam's disobedience because the phony science of evolution denies sin and therefore denies that death and the present hardships and struggles are a consequence of sin, but they who have either ignorantly, or worse, deceptively led multitudes within the Church to believe that scripture and the false, faith-wrecking doctrine of evolution can somehow be reconciled, but every doctrine formulated for that purpose has placed death and all that is associated with the curse before sin, making death not the wages of sin and the things of the curse indistinguishable from that which was before the curse and this is where the disconnect lies with every attempt to reconcile the teachings of evolutionary tenets with that of the scripture and which has become a stumbling block before professors of the faith who are confronted with questions such as: Why is there so much death, suffering, and evil in the world if God is so good and loving? Because in the minds of those whose faith is being shaken, the questioning skeptic, and the challenging adversary, a God who creates a world with death, hardship, and every kind of suffering that there could be cannot be good, loving, peaceful, or merciful because how can a kind and loving God create a world with so much death and misery?
And even if He is a kind and loving God, then He must be limited in power and foresight and therefore is unable to stop all of the evil and suffering taking place in the world. Furthermore, His creation, instead of being perfect from the start, has been a history of failed experiments and wasteful processes before attaining to the desired state, but what is even more disturbing is that if the creative process was not what was recorded in Genesis, then we really cannot have confidence in the integrity of our Maker.
A God to whom any evolutionary tenets are attributed is either limited in His attributes or is at worse, cruel. Either way, no one is easily able to have confidence or adoration in a God like that.
Such attempts to render Genesis in any other light than actual history, rather than answer an intellectual and philosophical challenged that has been proclaimed to be science, has instead, especially upon further examination, left some contradictions that remain unresolved, and raises more questions than answers. How can death be a consequence of sin, if it was in existence before man? How can suffering be a curse if suffering is a result of the curse? How can death be an enemy if it was supposed to be a part of the natural process and not a part of the curse? What is Christ redeeming us from if death came before sin? What pain is the creation itself destined to be liberated from if it was travailing in pain before the curse?
Questions easily answered if the Genesis account is accepted as actual history, but to which there really is no answer if it is simply an allegory or myth. And if Genesis is actual history, then we can easily have confidence in the attributes and character of the God to whom we owe our existence, but if Genesis is anything but a historical narrative, then what does that say about the God we worship?
How we view Genesis, also called the first book of mention, can and does have an affect on how we treat the rest of scripture and perceive the character or God Himself. If we can trust Genesis, upon which the rest of scripture rests, then we should have no trouble being able to trust all of scripture and we should especially have no trouble having confidence in the redemptive work of Christ.
But if we are to be effective in our witness for Christ, we have to demonstrate full confidence in the Gospel message which requires that we must demonstrate unwavering confidence in the authority of scripture, and if we hope to convince questioning skeptics, those whose faith is being faced with intellectual and philosophical challenges, and to put those attempting to discredit our faith to shame, then we must be ready and able to give a defense for our faith that is as reasoned and as solid as we possibly can give (2 Cor. 10:4, 1 Pet. 3:15, Jude 3) because if we do not, not only will our preaching of the Gospel lack credibility in the eyes of an unbelieving world, but we will also be unable to retain the confidence of many within our ranks who may be in danger of falling away due to deceptive doctrines crafted to destroy their faith.
But we have failed miserably in preparing to give an answer for the faith that is in (1 Pet. 3:15) us and to earnestly contend for the faith (Jude 3), and have declined to take down what the scripture calls those strongholds, wicked imaginations, and those things that exalt themselves against the knowledge of Christ and to make obedient to Christ every thought (2 Cor. 10:4) and when faced with a perplexing challenge to the faith, instead of calling out to God for wisdom (Jas. 1:5) we relied on our own understanding, and instead of taking the time to test all things (1 Thess. 5:21) we have accepted without question that which professed experts placed in established institutions, have claimed and have allowed such systematic lies and deceptions to go unchecked and unchallenged even to the point that we have allowed all manner of false doctrine to infiltrate and poison the hearts and minds of many within our ranks, even to the overthrowing of the faith of some.
It is so vital that we make ourselves ready to give a reasoned and sound defense of the faith and it is from the scientific and academic establishments that the Church has been heavily assaulted and against which it has largely offered no defense but against which a solid defense must be built and can be built. There are a number of different ministries and entities who seek to restore confidence in the authority of scripture and much to their frustration and disappointment, the Church at large is not making use of the resources they have to offer.
I thank God for those few congregations that are doing everything they can to maintain a solid and reasoned defense of their faith and have retained an unwavering confidence in the scriptures, and for those ministries and organizations who have been established for the purpose of providing helpful and useful insight that has been effective in providing answers to challenging arguments and questions, but the Church as a whole needs to be actively at work, not only in winning as many as they can to Christ, but also in maintaining their base and preparing themselves for all challenges with which they may be faced so as to make their case for the Gospel as effective and as persuasive as possible.
If we are unable, even when at our best, to persuade the lost to come to repentance, I would rather that it be because the hearts of men have become too hardened and not because of our failings because if we would all be hard at work in persuading as many to come to Christ as possible, preparing ourselves to give a reasoned defense for the faith that we have, to maintain our members and base, to live our lives in such a way so as to lend credence to our professed faith, and to stand firm in the face of persecution and the threat thereof, at least then we can be confident that we are doing everything we can to persuade as many as we can to Christ and we can also have the surety that our efforts will be honored and vindicated before God in Heaven.
But in order to be made ready to do all that we can to win as many souls as will come to Christ, there must come a reformation within our ranks that takes us back to the authority of scripture upon which our faith is built and a purifying that drives out the darkness, harbored sin, falsehood, cowardice, apathy, and complacency out of our ranks and brings back accountability, truth, a commitment to sound doctrine, vigilance in standing against false doctrines, unwavering steadfastness in faith, solid trust in the authority of scripture, an undying zeal for our God and diligence in all that we do in service to Him.
In committing ourselves to these things, we will be better able, as followers of Christ, show ourselves to be set apart from the darkness of the world out of which we were called, making our light to shine all the more brighter.
The Church has been bombarded and assaulted from without and poisoned from within by those who have infiltrated our ranks to destroy from within what they could not from without and the list of all that has weakened, compromised, and corrupted the Church at large is long and spanning centuries and among those things that have caused such damage to the credibility of the Church has been "science falsely so called" (1 Tim. 6:20) and it needs to be made clear what constitutes as sound science and pseudo-science because what we accept as science has further reaching consequences for our lives than what we realize and has a greater impact on the credibility of our faith than what we think.
It needs to be made understood that true science does not conflict with our faith or the tenets thereof nor will it ever challenge the authority of scripture. If anything at all, it will affirm and vindicate our faith. The debate and battle rages, not around the observable science and the experiments that are testable and repeatable, but around the origin of life which cannot be tested or repeated.
Coming from an objective standpoint, we will never be able to reproduce a molecule to man scenario to determine as to whether or not the theory of evolution as propagated by Darwin is true. Many have tried and have so far failed, but at the same time, we will never be able to repeat the Genesis account of creation because that is a direct act of God that took place apart from the present laws of nature that are presently in place.
When it comes to origins, all scientific experimentation, hypothesis, and theory reach a dead end and cannot give an adequate and satisfying explanation for how life originated by natural processes alone. There must come a point where it has to humbly be acknowledge that science is limited in its ability to prove and explain everything. It can only tell us about the present. It cannot reconstruct the past or predict the future which is why any science that professes to do either must be disregarded as a phony science.
All that science can do at best is pose a theory or a hypothesis about what may have happened in the past, but it cannot firmly establish what exactly happened. Only a documented account can do that and that requires an eye witness.
Evolution teaches a history on the origins of life that has never been tested, repeated, or documented. The Genesis account of creation is presented as a historical record that was revealed to man by God; which do we follow? Which do we deem to be the most credible? A history on the origins of life that cannot be verified by a documented account, or a history of origins revealed to us by a God who created us and created all life?
If evolution is true, then the most we lose is an illusion and we are forced to reassess everything we know and find something else that we can reasonably place our faith and trust in, and which we believe can give our lives the sense of meaning and purpose that we need but if the Genesis account of creation is true, then without a doubt, eternity is at stake because we are confronted now with the truth of a God to whom we owe our existence, who is actively involved in the affairs of men, who has determined that which is right and wrong, who has set before us a set of laws by which our lives are to be governed, who has revealed to us our beginnings and a history that we otherwise would not have; a history that tells us not only how life began, but also about how the world once was when it was first created, what turned the world that once was into the world in which we presently live, and what our future will be.
We are also confronted with the fact that we are going to stand before this God one day and give an account for all things said and done. The very thoughts and intents of our hearts and minds will be subject to judgment as well. Our goodness, even our goodness at its very best is going to be measured and compared, not with that of other people, but that with the Maker Himself and that standard is moral perfection and those who fall short of that moral standard of perfection are forever doomed unless they are provided means by which they can be redeemed because falling short of that moral standard of perfection is what is called sin. And who can honestly say that they are morally flawless? Who can say that they have ever achieved in abiding by a moral standard of perfection, and not just by our outward performance or even by what comes out of our mouths, but even by our thoughts, motives, and heartfelt intents? Because we will all be judged from the inside out, and scripture says that we have all fallen short of that moral standard of perfection. (Rom. 3:23) All it takes is just one sin, no matter how big or small, to cause us to fall short, and all sin will be punished because a God who is good, perfect, and holy cannot allow sin in His presence or in His Kingdom because sin taints and corrupts all that it touches.
It was the transgression of Adam that drove Adam and his wife Eve out of the garden where not only the tree of the knowledge of good and evil from which they ate was located, but also the tree of life which would have enabled them to live forever.
In the garden, Adam and Eve were in essence given a choice between life and death and sadly, they chose death at the behest of a wicked entity who caused them to doubt their Maker and promised to them what appeared to be an enhancement to them which in the end became, as God said, their eventual demise and not only did their disobedience lead to their eventual deaths, but their sin, which all of us have inherited, has brought us into darkness, bondage, and condemnation, also alienating us from our Maker, but God in His love for us has desired to show us mercy and offer forgiveness, but at the same time, cannot allow sin of any sort to go unpunished and the punishment for sin is everlasting separation from our Maker which only results in eternal torment, for though the God who made us is a God of love and mercy, He is also a God of justice which is of a standard so high, that even the slightest of sins must face everlasting punishment, and because we are inherently sinful, we sin even as we seek to do that which is good. That may seem unfair and unjust from our perspective but bear in mind that if we fail to measure up to the standard of moral perfection of our Creator, then our standard of justice also fails to measure up as well and is flawed in light of the justice standards of our Maker who Himself has defined what is fair and just and what He has already defined, we cannot redefine; to do so is to set ourselves against Him.
Therefore, in order for mercy to be shown to us in a way that also satisfies the required penalty for sin, it required God to send His Son, Christ Jesus, who is without sin, to die on behalf of the sinner and to be raised from the dead so that anyone willing to turn away from their sin and call upon Him for forgiveness, trusting only in what He has done on their behalf and in nothing else, may be saved from everlasting damnation.
The disobedience of Adam brought the following:
1. Separation from our Maker (Gen. 3)
2. Inherent sin which resides in all of humanity, (Rom. 5:12 ) which brings death to all. (Rom. 5:12, 6:23)
3. A curse upon all of creation. (Gen. 3, Rom. 8:22)
4. Satan, who is the enemy of God and man, claiming lordship over the kingdoms of the earth. (Mt. 4:8-9, Lk. 4:6-8, Jn. 12:31, 30, 16:11)
1. Redemption of the soul which also restores fellowship with our Maker
2. The coming redemption of our bodies (1 Cor. 15:51-55)
3. A world to come in which there is no death, or curse. (Rev. 21-22)
4. The elimination of the wicked forces presently claiming lordship over this world (Rev. 20)
This all makes the most sense when we are able to place our faith in what the Bible says about the beginning of the world, but it never will if there is no confidence in the authority of scripture. It has been the desired goal of Contender's Edge to do its part in assisting serious followers of our Lord in being better able to give a sound defense for their faith and to answer to the best of its ability any questions that anyone may have about the faith and scripture in hopes that it may be able to win souls over to our Lord who offers forgiveness and salvation to all who seek it.
To anyone visiting this post, as you explore this site, if you feel the call of the Holy Spirit, speaking to your heart, mind, and conscience, I would urge you to not harden your heart but allow your heart to be open, for as it is written, Jesus stands at the door of every heart and knocks (Rev. 3:20) waiting for anyone who is willing to open their heart to Him.
All that has to be done to invite Him in is that you turn away from all of your sins, and ask Him to forgive you of all sins, trusting in Him alone to be your Savior and your Lord. Christ is not concerned with the words with which you call upon Him for salvation, but if you are not sure what to say, here is an example of what to say:
"Lord Jesus I need you.
I realize that I am a sinner
who has fallen short of the glory of God
and that my goodness falls short
of His standard of Moral perfection.
Please forgive me of all of my sins.
Come into my heart and into my life
to be the Savior and Lord of my life.
Make me into the servant and follower
that you want me to be.
In your name Lord Jesus, I pray.
Amen."
If the words you pray are done with all sincerity of heart, then your sins have been forgiven and you have a place in Heaven. You have now become a child of God.
