Appeasing Perverse Fantasies Is No Solution

A professing child protection group called the Prostasia Foundation claims that in order to prevent pedophilia that would-be child molesters should be provided artificial means to satisfy their perverse and twisted fantasies.  World Net Daily explains:

The Prostasia Foundation, which claims to be a child protection group focused on evidence-based prevention methods for child sexual abuse, has fought for policies that would expand adults’ access to childlike sex toys and fictitious child pornography and argued against the use of sex offender registries.
The group has argued repeatedly that child-centered sexual fantasy activities — so long as they do not involve actual children — should be permissible and may even help people who experience pedophilic attraction to avoid committing crimes. [1]

But what if appeasing these fantasies ends up causing the opposite effect of what the prevention proposals put forth and supported by Prostasia intend?  Even they admitted that they didn’t know if their proposals would ever do anything stop would-be pedophiles from harming a child but what is most dangerous is that they argue against the use of sex-offender registries.

Granted schools, pre-schools, places of worship, and religious organizations may still be able to conduct background checks on potential employees and candidates to fill certain positions, but how would parents know whether or not a convicted pedophile was living in their neighborhood? How would they know who their children need to avoid?

And rather than appease a dark and sinful fantasy founded in abnormal affections, those abnormal affections need to be reshaped and reformed into affections that are moral and lawful and not just in the sight of man, but most importantly in the sight of God.

There may be no earthly means, in some cases, to undo what has been inwardly broken or perverted because in order for there to be a repair and a reform of that which is inwardly broken and corrupt, there has to be an inward change inside the person and that requires the changing of their inward nature and a changing of the inward man is the most effective preventative measure against pedophilia and not only against pedophilia, but against every other kind of wickedness and sin that there is.

But in order to do that, there must be an understanding as to what causes a man to be inwardly broken to begin with and what it is that may warp or twist his affections.  Now there may be some who may claim that it is genetic, psychological, and that they were even born that way (a common argument used to justify LGBT behavior) and it could be the reason why Prostasia is suggesting what they hope may be effective preventative measures against pedophilia is because perhaps they believe that pedophiles, like LGBTs, are born the way that they are and if that is the case, then this happens to be a sad and tragic consequence of what happens when we attempt make excuses and justifications for one type of sin and bad behavior rather than attempting to turn the one engaged in a sinful and wicked lifestyle away from that evil and, if necessary, exact upon them appropriate punishment.

What those attempting to excuse and justify bad behaviors and evil actions would have us believe is that the perpetrators are unable to help the way that they are and therefore can never change therefore making any sense of morality meaningless.

But people can change and they can refrain from evil if they so choose.  Granted that they may not help or be able to control the impulses of the inward person, but they can control their actions and behavior and they can choose to minimize the impulses within them by avoiding those very things that give strength to those impulses.

For example, a drunk or druggie seeking to quit using drugs or quit drinking may still feel the urge at times to use or drink, but they can still minimize the strength of those urges by avoiding people who drink and use drugs and staying away from places in which drinking and drug use may be prevalent.  It may take effort to resist and say no to those sinful impulses, but it also takes effort to give in as well; in other words, we all have a choice as to what we give into and whether we walk a path of good or evil and whether to give into corrupt and evil impulse or listen to reason and our conscience which speak into us the things that are good and within each and every person is that ongoing struggle for their very soul, even within those who desire to do good but sadly, evil prevails within the souls of multitudes and leads them into an eternity of darkness and torment despite the fact that it never has to be that way but is because many choose evil instead of goodness, darkness instead of light, falsehood instead of truth, death instead of life, Hell instead of Heaven, and Satan instead of God and this age-long war for the souls of men began shortly after God had created the heavens and the earth and all that is in them and once we begin to understand how this age-long war between God and Satan began, we need to first understand how things were in the beginning because this age-long war between God and Satan is not political.  It is not academic.  It isn’t even a moral one.  It is a spiritual one that extends to, affects, and extends to all the rest.

Before this age-long war between God and Satan began, Satan, also called Lucifer, used to serve as a cherub before the throne of God before he was lifted up in pride and thought to make himself equal to God and take for himself what belongs to God alone and as a consequence, he and they who sided with him, were cast from their places in Heaven (Is. 14:11-21, Ezek. 28:12-19) and afterwards then crept into a new world and universe created by God which, before evil entered into it was a world in which only life and light dwelt.  It was a world in which there was only peace, contentment, joy, happiness, and a perfect harmony between God, man, and nature.

And when God had created man, He had given to man dominion over all of the earth (Gen. 1:26) and there was nothing withheld from him except for one thing: fruit from a certain tree called the tree of the knowledge of good and evil having warned man that in the day that he ate of that fruit, he would surely die. (Gen. 2:16-17, 3:3)

But that fallen cherub Satan, in the form of a serpent had deceived Eve, the first woman into eating of that forbidden fruit who then gave some of that fruit to the first man Adam, her husband, who also ate of it (Gen. 3:6) for Satan had deceived them into thinking that the eating of that fruit would enlighten them and even make them divine and also falsely assured them that they would not die as they had been warned of God. (Gen. 3:4-5)

But when Adam, the first man, and Eve, the first woman and Adam’s wife, had eaten of that forbidden fruit, the only thing to which they had become enlightened was to a nakedness that caused them shame (Gen. 3:7) and the sentence of death was pronounced upon them as God had warned them (Gen. 3:19) for when they had eaten of that forbidden fruit a corruption entered into them that changed them from what God had created them to be into what He had not created them to be and that which entered into them upon the eating of that forbidden fruit changed them inwardly from that which was by nature good into that which was by nature evil and this change that entered into them by the eating of this fruit is a corruption of the inward person and the nature of man that we call sin and which causes all men to be by nature that which God had not intended them to be and it is by this corruption that death comes to all men for it was because of sin that the eventual deaths of Adam and Eve came about and it is from Adam and Eve that sin was passed down to all of mankind for it is from Adam and Eve that all mankind descend and because we are all descendants of Adam and Eve we have also inherited within us the corruption that entered into them (Rom. 5:12) and because this inward corruption causes all to sin, we all die because it is in sin that death has its power which is why it is written that the wages of sin is death. (Rom. 6:23)

But the consequences of Adam’s transgression did not stop with man, but all of creation was affected by that first act of disobedience because sin taints, defiles, distorts, twists, corrupts, and perverts more than we know; everything it ever touches which is why it is written that the entire creation groans and travails in pain to this day. (Rom. 8:19-22)

The curse that sin has brought not just upon mankind but all of creation is the reason for the miseries, cataclysms, evil, darkness, oppressions, griefs, sufferings, adversities, hardships, anguishes, torments, and struggles that are both experienced and witnessed to this day and furthermore, the transgression of Adam also gave Satan, who caused him and Eve to eat of that forbidden fruit, justification to claim lordship over the nations, kingdoms, peoples, and empires of the world. (Mt. 4:8-9, Lk. 4:6-7) which is why he is presently called the prince of this world (Jn. 12:31, 16:11) and not only did the transgression of Adam bring sin into the world and with it death, and not only did his actions bring a curse upon the entire creation and cause the dominion over the earth that was initially given to man to be diminished, we, because of sin, are born estranged from our Creator from whom we would otherwise not be estranged but with whom we would otherwise have a perfect unity and an uninterrupted fellowship.

Sin is not just a bad action or behavior and it isn’t even what comes out of our mouths but it also influences the thoughts and desires from which the outward acts are produced and the motives and attitudes that drive the actions and not only has sin produced moral corruption within man and spiritual darkness, but it also twists the affections and desires that God initially instilled in man into affections and desires that He never placed in them and so when someone attempts to justify sinful and wicked behavior by claiming that God made them that way, He didn’t make them that way.  Sin made them that way just as sin turns everything else into what God never created it to be and because sin turns all that it touches into that which God never intended and because of the eventual destruction that it brings, God cannot allow anyone in sin into His Kingdom because if He did, then Heaven above would be corrupted and defiled as the earth has been and because we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, (Rom. 3:23) entry into Heaven does not come by our own merit or by our own goodness because even our own efforts to be morally upright are also tainted by the sin that is present within us, but there is good news and the good news is, is that God Almighty is not willing that any should perish and be forever damned to Hell but that all would come to repentance (2 Pet. 3:9) because He loves us more than we can possibly know and desires to show us mercy rather than judgment and because He desires to show us mercy rather than judgment, He sent into the world Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son, (Jn. 3:16) to offer Himself for the sins of the world and because Christ was and is without sin, (2 Cor. 5:21, Heb. 4:15) He was able to be that perfect sacrifice needed to take away the sins of the world (Heb. 7:26-27) and this He did by offering Himself unto death by way of the shedding of His blood upon the cross on which He was crucified and after having in His death satisfied the demanded penalty, He was raised again from the dead that we, by faith, would be justified in Him (Rom. 4:25) if we will but in sincere faith and repentance call upon Him for the forgiveness of sins. (Rom. 10:13)

And with the forgiveness of sins comes reconciliation with our Creator from whom our sins had once estranged us (2 Cor. 5:18) and also with that repentance and forgiveness comes a spiritual transformation (2 Cor. 5:17) that causes us to no longer desire to follow after selfish and worldly pursuits but after those things that pertain to the Kingdom of Heaven,
to no longer take pleasure in those things that are evil and displeasing in the sight of the Lord, but in that which is good, right, and pleasing in His sight,
to no longer desire to walk in the lies of this present world, but only in the truth that comes from Christ Almighty, no longer placing our hopes in the things of this present world, but looking forward to that new and better world to come, (Rev. 21-22)
to no longer rely on worldly resources, men, or even our own power, abilities, skills, and wisdom for our needs and provision but upon God who is able to meet all of our needs, (Mt. 6:25-33) recognizing that the resources of this world and even the people He brings into our lives are but instruments and vessels through which God meets our needs and that the skills, power, knowledge, and wisdom by which we might acquire our provision are provided and instilled in us by God,
to no longer fear what men can do to us, but rather fearing the God before whom we will have to one day give an account for how we lived our lives, (Mt. 10:28)
to no longer look to corruptible institutions within our society for direction and order in our lives but to God who, by His written Word has given us laws and precepts to be applied to our lives and which serve to produce and maintain an ordered life, and who, by His Holy Spirit which comes to dwell within us upon repentance, establishes in our lives a course and direction in our lives to pursue for His glory,
to no longer seek our own glory but the glory of God,
to no longer rally behind corruptible men, but instead behind the incorruptible God in Heaven bearing in mind that those men and women God raises up for our edification are but instruments and servants of His for that respective purpose to which He has called them,
to no longer seek to align ourselves with the things of darkness but only with the things of the light,
to no longer trust in the wisdom of the world but only in the wisdom and knowledge that comes from above, nor depend on corruptible earthly authorities to swiftly administer justice, but only in the power of God to deliver us from evil.

This is the kind of change that causes unnatural and inordinate affections to be changed into that which is natural.
It is the change that causes the drunk or druggie to stop consuming toxic substances which destroy their bodies and make them unstable in their mind and in their ways but rather fill themselves with healthy things.
It is the change that sets fools on the path to wisdom and ignorant on that of the knowledge that comes from above.
It is the change that causes the lewd to become modest.
It is the change that brings humility to the prideful.
It is the change that makes the sexually immoral to embrace sexual purity.
It is the change that makes the violent to seek peace.
It is the change that replaces hate with love.
It is the change that makes the respecter of persons impartial.
It is the change that makes the selfish selfless.
It is the change that makes the stingy generous.
It is the change that makes the covetous and jealous content with what they are given and provided.
It is the change that makes the merciless and unforgiving merciful and forgiving.
It is the change that makes those once cruel and harsh to become gentle and kind.
It is the change that makes the speaker of lies seek to be speakers of truth.
It is the change that makes the deceiver to embrace honesty and integrity.
It is the change that turns the corrupt into upright and principled persons.
It is the change that makes the lawless lawful.
It is the change that makes the unholy holy.
It is the change that makes the ungodly godly.
It is the change that makes the unrighteous to pursue after righteousness.
It is the change that makes the evil prefer good over evil and to love the light instead of darkness.
It is the change that makes the unjust to be just.
It is the change that fills the despairing with hope.
It is the change that brings a sense of purpose into those who had none and which motivates the lazy to be diligent in whatever their hands find to do and to be productive contributing members of society.
It is the change that sets one’s sights on the things from above rather than the temporal pleasures of this life.
It is the change that causes one to want to build up treasures in Heaven instead of treasures on earth.
It is the change that causes one to place their hopes in the new and better world to come instead of this present world.
It is the change that causes one to value the love, favor, praise, and honor that comes from God above that of man.
It is the change that causes one to rather stand with God and be judged by the world than with the world and be judged by God.
It is the change that brings courage to the cowardly in the face of evil and injustice.
It is the change that brings respectability, honor, and trustworthiness into established institutions, organizations, and movements.
It is the change that can turn a household into a light to their respective neighborhood, a neighborhood into a light to a community, a community into a light to their respective province or state, and a province or state into a light to an entire nation and a nation into a light to the entire world.
It is also the change that can change a culture of death and darkness into a culture of life and light.
And it is also the change by which oppressive forces are eventually vanquished and which brings liberty to those once captive.

And just as we are made spiritually new in Christ, so then do we look forward to the day when we will be liberated from bodily death when our present bodies in which sin dwell and are presently subject to death as a consequence, are changed into bodies in which there is no sin and therefore are exempt from death (1 Cor. 15:51-55, 1Thess. 4:13-18) for where sin is not, neither is there death.

And then the adversary of our souls claiming lordship over the people, nations, kingdoms, and empires of the world will be cast out of this world upon the return of the King (Rev. 19-20:3) by whom all things are made (Jn. 1:1-3) and will, along with all who have followed him, receive his final sentence which will make his defeat final. (Rev. 20:10-15)  And finally, creation itself will be liberated from the curse of sin when it is made anew into a world and universe in which Heaven and earth are joined together and in which sin, death, and decay will be no more and in which there will be no more curse, nor any more grief, pain, sorrow, anguish, torment, suffering, affliction, misery, poverty, sickness, famine, oppression, adversity, hardship, or evil of any sort, but life, light, goodness, peace, contentment, joy, happiness, and harmony before the Lord God Almighty. (Rev. 21-22)

If there are certain things about yourself that you are not proud of but would like to see changed be it an addiction or a struggle with abnormal affections that you would rather not have but do not know how to rid yourself of them, there is a God in Heaven who is able to bring about in you that inward change for the better if you will but invite Him in to do so and a desire to be changed for the better is a start towards the saving faith that brings about in the repentant sinner a cleansing of the soul from sin and a transformation that causes the repentant sinner to no longer take pleasure in the things that had once placed his soul on a road to perdition, but in the things that are good and right in the eyes of God.  It is but a simple sincere prayer of faith and repentance away.

“Lord Jesus I need you.

I realize that I am a sinner
who has fallen short of the glory of God
and that my goodness falls short
of your standard of Moral perfection.

Please forgive me of all of my sins.
Come into my heart and into my life
to be the Savior and Lord of my life.
Make me into the servant and follower
that you want me to be.
In your name Lord Jesus, I pray.

Amen.”

Know that God is not concerned with the words that you use to call upon Him forgiveness, but with the attitude of your heart and if you have, with all sincerity, have asked Christ to forgive you of your sins, placing your trust in Him only for your salvation and in nothing else, then your sins are forgiven and your place in Heaven is certain.
