Ken Ham And Virgil Walker Explain The Importance Of Knowing What A Fascist Is (And What Isn't A Fascist)

Ken Ham and Virgil Walker both wrote insightful pieces about the vital importance of knowing what certain things are and what certain words mean [1-2] and in this case, “fascist” or “fascism.”  Far too often we hear the word “fascist” or “Nazi” being hurled at certain political factions by those who know almost nothing about what “fascism” or “Nazism” and as both men point out, this is turning into a very dangerous situation for those who express opinions, thoughts, and certain philosophical, political, and religious beliefs that others may not only be at odds with but find reprehensible and abhorrent, even if those expressed thoughts, opinions, and belief systems, with which those crying “fascist” or “Nazi” may be at odds, are not calling for violence against anyone, or for any group of people to be treated any differently than another, or for anyone’s thoughts and opinions to be censored and silenced.

Granted that most everyone would agree that fascism and Nazism are evil systems but not everyone knows and understands what these philosophical and political systems really are and as a consequence, whenever disagreements over points of view and perspective arise, “fascist” and “Nazi” are often hurled as insults and often times, at those who have done nothing deserving of the title.

We have even frequently heard President Trump being called “Hitler” by those who may know the name and know that he was an evil man and tyrant, but they do not know what it was that he actually believed in and in a twist of irony, most of those who are screaming “fascist”, “Nazi”, and “Hitler”, are carrying out the fascist and Nazi legacy and supporting many of the policies associated with fascism and Nazism and what Nazis and fascists believe in.

And the people who are called Nazis and fascists the most are not those who are racist, hold authoritarian views, or desire to eliminate certain segments of the population from society, but those who are Bible-believing Christians and MAGA-aligned conservatives; both of which oppose the tenets of fascism and Nazism.

In hopes of helping any potential readers out there to understand, I want to give you a comparative contrast between the Christian and MAGA platforms and creeds and that of the Nazi/fascist platforms:

The Christian and MAGA platforms:

1.  Christians believe in one God who created the universe and all that is in them (Gen. 1-2), who is the source of all truth (Jn. 14:6), who is the sole decider and determiner of what is right and wrong, good and evil, truth and falsehood, who is actively involved in the affairs of all men, and before whom all men must give an account for all that has been said and done in this present life, and who will to each person give out the final sentence and reward.

They also believe that mankind is inherently corrupt, that this corruption causes us to fall short of God’s standard of moral perfection (Rom. 3:23) and due to that, we are all in need of redemption, not by our own efforts, but through the unblemished goodness of Jesus Christ our Lord who came to us as God in the flesh (Jn. 1:14) to take away the sins of the world which He did by His death on the cross on which He was crucified and after having purchased our redemption by the shedding of His blood, He was raised again from the dead for our justification (Rom. 4:25) so that anyone calling upon Him for the forgiveness of sins will be saved. (Rom. 10:9, 13)

They believe that true transformation begins not from without but from within (2 Cor. 5:17) upon accepting Jesus Christ as Savior of one’s soul and Lord over one’s life.

They, as a whole, believe in the imminent return of Christ Jesus (Rev. 20-22) not placing their faith and hope in the things of this present world but in the new and better world to come.  That doesn’t mean that they don’t want to better themselves or do what they can to better the world around them, but they believe that due to the increase of evil and wickedness in the world, that this present world will eventually be done away with and replaced with a new and better world (Rev. 21-22)

Many MAGA adherents also profess to follow Christ Jesus, but the MAGA movement does contain within itself a diversity of theological thought as there are also within the movement practitioners of Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism, some who hold to some tenets New Age thought, some who profess to follow Islam, and some who have no belief in God or higher power at all.  Even amongst professors of the Christian faith within the MAGA movement, there is also a diversity of theological thought as there is within the movement Catholics, Protestants and evangelicals, and even Mormons but irrespective of the theological differences, most will admit to a belief in and reverence for God or a higher power to whom we will one day have to give an account.

They also believe that our rights and freedoms come from God and not man and either encourage a theistic faith-based influence in the public square or at the very least are not opposed to it.

2.  Christians and MAGA believe in the free exercise of religion, the unfettered freedom of speech and the free exchange of ideas, thoughts, and opinions and are foundational to a functioning democratic republic.  What makes Christianity compatible with the MAGA platform is that Christianity is a faith that is diplomatic in nature and was never meant to be spread by use of force as Christians believe that in order to win souls, minds and hearts must first be won over.

They also both believe in the freedom of association and that every faction, organization, and entity has a God-given right to preserve its integrity, identity, and to operate according to its respective faith, doctrine, and values and this includes women’s organizations and athletics

MAGA and Christians both believe that differences are best sorted out through diplomacy and dialogue instead of coercion, censorship, and use of force.

3.  Both Christians and MAGA believe that all people were created equal no matter their gender, skin-color, ethnicity, lineage, nationality, economic and social status, age, or occupation

4.  Christians and many within the MAGA movement honor and respect the family structure and unit as designed by God.

5.  Many Christians and most within the MAGA movement will both profess to believe in the sanctity of innocent unborn life, but there remains disagreement as to what extent but they certainly oppose doing away with human life when the preservation of life is no longer convenient.

6.  Christians and MAGA believe that justice needs to be carried out swiftly and effectively against all wrongdoing and criminal activity and that no excuses should be made for evil acts.

7.  Both Christians and MAGA believe that if those who are able to work don’t work, they shouldn’t eat (2 Thess. 3:10) but that doesn’t mean that they don’t believe in helping others in distress and need.  They also believe that people should be able to enjoy the fruits and rewards of their labors and not be excessively taxed out of them.

8.  Both Christians and MAGA desire to see the poor rise out of poverty and for the work of their hands to prosper and not fail which is why the MAGA platform is against high taxation and excessive regulation.

9.  Christians and MAGA both believe that parents should be the ones deciding as to how their children are educated and what they should be taught and oppose centralized control of education but would rather see educational and academic control become decentralized.

10.  Christians and MAGA value preserving the innocence of children which is why both are opposed to children being exposed and indoctrinated with perverse and depraved ideologies.

11.  Christians and MAGA believe in the preservation of women’s safety and privacy in spaces designated for them such as restrooms, shower rooms, and locker rooms.

12.  Many Christians and MAGA do not believe that a nation should be denied access to its own respective resources but should be as self-sufficient as possible, depending as little on foreign resources as possible.  They also believe that the preservation of national sovereignty is vital for the survival and liberty of any nation.

13.  Many Christians and MAGA believe in the right to the defense of self, property, loved ones, and their fellowpersons against any and all threats and that law-abiding citizens should not be prosecuted or condemned for defending themselves and all that they hold dear from any who would seek to do them harm nor for coming to the aid of those under threat.

14.  Many Christians and MAGA believe in a strong national defense and security which includes secure borders and the deportation of illegal aliens and especially those illegals who seek nothing more but to steal, kill, and destroy

15.  Both Christians and MAGA believe in liberty and value economic, political, and social liberty, but Christians believe that liberty begins not from without but with the liberty of the mind, heart, and soul; a liberty that begins from within.

16.  Both Christians and MAGA believe in principled but limited government subject to accountability

17.  That all people should be subjected to the same standards.

As I consider the MAGA platform, it is interesting to note how much the MAGA platform and creed have in common with biblical teaching but it is not my intent to go into an in-depth comparison on this blogpost but both Christian doctrine and the MAGA platform stand in stark contrast to the tenets and platform of Nazism and fascism.

The tenets of Nazism and fascism are as follows:

1.  Godlessness and either the elimination of all theistic religion or restricting the practices thereof.

2.  Rights and freedoms come from man and not God.

3.  Demands conformity in thought and in the suppression of dissenting thought or opinion by any and all means necessary.

4.  Disarmament of the population

5.  Unlimited government control over political, economic, educational, and social activities

6.  Not all people are created equal but that some classes of people are superior to others

7.  That human life can be disposed of if deemed inconvenient

8.  That government, not God, decides what is right and wrong and what is truth and what is a lie

9.  That not all people should be subject to the same standards but that different classes of people should be subjected to different standards

And as film producer Cecil B. DeMille once asked, “Are we properties of the state? Or are we free souls under God?” [3]

That same choice has remained before us since the beginning of history itself but not only that, it is also a choice between:

Life or death
Good or evil
Light or darkness
Truth or falsehood
Wisdom or foolishness
Holiness or sinfulness
Purity or corruption
Righteousness or unrighteousness
Order or chaos
Liberty or oppression
Angels or demons
God or Satan
Heaven or Hell
Salvation or damnation

And if we are unwilling to submit ourselves to one side of that age-long warfare, we will inevitably be subjugated to the other and that warfare that is also a warfare for the hearts, minds, and souls of men began not on the earth, but before the creation of the world in the Kingdom of Heaven where a certain angel named Lucifer who had once served at the throne of God as a covering cherub until he became so lifted up in his own pride that he thought he could be equal with God forgetting that he was but a creation of God and as a consequence, he and all who had sided with him were cast from their places in Heaven (Is. 14:11-21, Ezek. 28:12-19) which then began that age-long war between God and Satan.

Afterwards, God created our universe and all that is in it and when He had created it, He had created it to be a world without death, evil, pain, suffering, or hardship, but a world filled only with light, life, peace, happiness, goodness, and joy complete with a perfect harmony between God, man, and nature itself and it was after the creation of the heavens and the earth that Satan found opportunity to accomplish on the earth what he was unable to accomplish in Heaven by and in the form of a serpent, he crept into this newly created world and through false assurances and promises of better things that would never be fulfilled, caused the first man Adam and the first woman Eve, who was Adam’s wife, to do the one thing that God had forbidden them to do and that was the eating of a fruit from a certain tree called the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, having been warned that in the day that they ate thereof, they would surely die (Gen. 2:16-17, 3:3) but by a lie, did Satan cause that fateful transgression that would to this day change the nature of the world for the worse (Gen. 3:4-5) and when Adam and Eve listened to the lie of Satan instead of the warning of God, instead of receiving the better things that they were promised, they received the opposite of what they had been promised and, as warned, were subject to the sentence of death (Gen. 3:19) and not only they themselves but the rest of mankind as well because the sin that entered into Adm and Eve was then passed down to mankind which is the reason why we are all inherently sinful and inwardly corrupt by nature since we are all descended from them (Rom. 5:12) and it is this inward corruption of our nature that causes us to sin and sin is the reason why we all die, for as it is written, the wages of sin is death, (Rom. 6:23) which makes Satan not only a murderer of Adam and Eve, but the murderer of every person born into this world by way of the sin that entered into Adam and Eve through the transgression of the eating of the forbidden fruit and was then passed down to all of their children and descendants, which we all are, but the consequences of sin did not stop with mankind but extended to all of creation as well, for as it is written that the entire creation groans and travails in pain to this day (Rom. 8:19-22) which is the reason for the death, suffering, evil, darkness, and misery which abound and in causing Adam and Eve to commit the transgression that brought sin and death into the world, he then was able to justify claiming lordship over the nations and kingdoms of the world (Mt. 4:8-9, Lk. 4:6-7) thereby diminishing the dominion that was initially given to Adam (Gen. 1:26) which is why he is called the prince of this world (Jn. 12:31, 16:11) and worst of all, the sin that entered into Adam and Eve caused a separation between them and God and has caused us who are born into this present world to be estranged from our Creator and with every lie that has followed the very first lie, Satan continues to keep as many souls as he can estranged from their Creator in order to keep them bound and captive to a spiritual darkness which will eventually bring those who remain in spiritual bondage into an everlasting damnation filled with a torment that never relents for it is not enough for Satan to be a destroyer of the body or even the destroyer of creation, but he also seeks to lead as many souls as he can into everlasting destruction.

By a lie did sin come into the world and death with it.
By a lie did Satan usurp the dominion given to man.
By a lie was creation itself subject to the pain, suffering, misery, evil, and decay that resides in it.
And it was that very lie that Satan earned the title of the father of lies (Jn. 844) and by that same lie was he made a murderer of not only Adam and Eve but also of every person born into the world since then and it was also by that very lie that Satan subjugate all of creation to a slow and painful destruction and diminished the dominion that was initially given to man which is why he is also called the thief who comes to steal, kill, and destroy (Jn. 10:10

And beginning with lies and deceit does Satan blind multitudes to the truth by which we are set free from spiritual darkness and sin (Jn. 8:32) and by which we are reconciled to our Creator from whom we had once been estranged (2 Cor. 5:18) and the truth that sets us free is this:

That God is not willing that any should perish in their sins and face eternal damnation, (2 Pet. 3:9) but that all would come to repentance, and therefore has done for us what we could never do for ourselves in that He, in His graciousness has purchased redemption on our behalf in Christ Jesus, His only begotten Son, (Jn. 3:16) who came to us in the flesh, (Jn. 1:14) and being without any sin (2 Cor. 5:21) was made that perfect sacrifice (Heb. 7:26-27) that was needed to take away the sins of the world and because of His perfect goodness, He was able to offer Himself up on our behalf to satisfy the demanded penalty for all sin and granting mercy and grace through the shedding of His blood on the cross and after having died, rose again from the dead three days later that we might be justified in Him (Rom. 4:25) if we will but call upon His name so that we might be saved from what would otherwise be a terrifying everlasting punishment if we will but call upon His name (Rom. 10:9, 13) and believe in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead (Rom. 10:9) for it is by calling upon His name in sincere repentance that salvation is granted and our souls made clean from sin thereby liberating us from the threat of eternal damnation and with that cleansing comes a new spiritual transformation (2 Cor. 5:17) that causes us to no longer desire to follow after selfish and worldly pursuits but after those things that pertain to the Kingdom of Heaven,
to no longer take pleasure in those things that are evil and displeasing in the sight of the Lord, but in that which is good, right, and pleasing in His sight,
to no longer desire to walk in the lies of this present world, but only in the truth that comes from Christ Almighty who is the source of all truth, (Jn. 14:6)
no longer placing our hopes in the things of this present world, but looking forward to that new and better world to come, (Rev. 21-22)
to no longer rely on worldly resources, men, or even our own power, abilities, skills, and wisdom for our needs and provision but upon God who is able to meet all of our needs, recognizing that the resources of this world and even the people He brings into our lives are but instruments and vessels through which God meets our needs and that the skills, power, knowledge, and wisdom by which we might acquire our provision are provided and instilled in us by God, (Mt. 6:25-33)
to no longer fear what men can do to us, but rather fearing the God before whom we will have to one day give an account for how we lived our lives, (Mt. 10:28)
to no longer look to corruptible institutions within our society for direction and order in our lives but to God who, by His written Word has given us laws and precepts to be applied to our lives and which serve to produce and maintain an ordered life, and who, by His Holy Spirit which comes to dwell within us upon repentance, establishes in our lives a course and direction in our lives to pursue for His glory,
to no longer seek our own glory but the glory of God,
to no longer rally behind corruptible men, but instead behind the incorruptible God in Heaven bearing in mind that those men and women God raises up for our edification are but instruments and servants of His for that respective purpose to which He has called them,
to no longer seek to align ourselves with the things of darkness but only with the things of the light,
to no longer trust in the wisdom of the world but only on the wisdom and knowledge that comes from above, (Jas. 1:5) nor depend on corruptible earthly authorities to swiftly administer justice, but only in the power of God to deliver us from evil.

And it is this new inward transformation that reconciles us to our Creator (2 Cor. 5:18) from whom we had once been estranged and just as our souls are cleansed from sin and our spirits regenerated in Christ Jesus thereby liberating us from the eternal tormenting punishment that must come upon all who remain in their sins, so one day we look forward to the liberation of our bodies from death itself when our mortal and corruptible forms are transformed into that which is immortal and incorruptible and from that which is imperfect to that which is perfect (1 Cor. 15:51-55, 1 Thess. 4:13-18) and lastly, creation itself will be delivered from the curse placed upon it because of sin when it is made into a new and better world (Rev. 21-22) and liberated from the hand of our adversary Satan, who presently claims dominion, when he is given his final sentence and cast into an everlasting tormenting fire prepared for him and his followers (Mt. 25:41, Rev. 20:10-15) and in that new world which will be made, there will be no sin, no death, no decay, nor any curse, nor any evil, or violence, suffering, misery, grief, sorrow, mourning, pain, or hardship of any sort for all of these will pass away with this present world.  Instead, there will only be light, life, happiness, joy, contentment, peace, and rest before the Lord God Almighty.

If your eyes have been opened to the truth of the Gospel message, then I urge you reader to call upon the name of the Lord Jesus for the forgiveness of sins.  It is but a sincere prayer of repentance away:

"Lord Jesus I need you.

I realize that I am a sinner
who has fallen short of the glory of God
and that my goodness falls short
of your standard of Moral perfection.

Please forgive me of all of my sins.
Come into my heart and into my life
to be the Savior and Lord of my life.
Make me into the servant and follower
that you want me to be.
In your name Lord Jesus, I pray.

Amen."

Know that God is not concerned with the words that you use to call upon Him forgiveness, but with the attitude of your heart and if you have, with all sincerity, have asked Christ to forgive you of your sins, placing your trust in Him only for your salvation and in nothing else, then your sins are forgiven and your place in Heaven is certain.
