The Berean Call Exposes Some Disturbing Developments From The Museum Of The Bible

The current President of the Museum of the Bible, (and it sounds like a fascinating establishment from what I’ve heard) states that the purpose of the museum is not to “evangelize” but to educate in a manner that is non-sectarian, but if, as reported by an item from The Berean Call, its exhibits are favoring the contributions of theistic evolutionists over the contributions of young earth creationists and emphasizes Catholic contributions more than Protestant contributions, [1] that is far from being non-sectarian.

To be non-sectarian, would be to include figures from all side of the debate over how the Genesis account of creation should be rendered and to give Catholics and Protestants equal representation.  Otherwise, if equal representation is not given, then people are not being educated.  Instead, they are being indoctrinated by a propaganda that may not be an honest representation of the Bible itself.

Another concerned expressed by the writer of the Berean Call piece is that while the museum does well in presenting archaeological evidence supporting the historical claim and presence of the Jews in Israel, it leaves out the biblical account of the origins of their culture and presence in Israel and allegedly makes inaccurate statements pertaining to the development of the Jewish faith. [2]

The most disturbing of all things that the writer of the featured item observed when he visited the museum is that there was a painting of “a cosmic Christ figure with the face of the son of murderer Khristian Oliver placed on that ‘Jesus’” in what he believed to be an attempt to persuade visitors to the museum that the proper biblical position would be to oppose the death penalty even for murderers when in reality, there is nothing in the New Testament that opposes the death penalty for murderers; [3] in fact it is taken a step further than even in the Old Testament:

Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. (Mt. 5:21-22)

I pray that in spite of the error present within the Bible Museum that God will be glorified in it and I believe that He will be and I pray that those who have built and are running this establishment will be moved into correcting the errors and falsehoods being displayed and propagated in the museum and if the fear and love of God has not entered into any of them, that the love and fear of Him will enter into them and prevail in them more than the fear of man as they will be held accountable and answerable before God for how their museum has represented Him and what they lead visitors to believe about Him and He takes very seriously how He is represented and what is said about Him. (Job 42:7-9)

So let us take care to make sure that we who profess to follow Christ represent Him well and that what we say about Him is true and accurate of Him.  He has already given us the means to make sure that what we believe and say about Him is true and accurate and it is His divinely inspired Word (2 Tim. 3:16) that He has given us against which to test every doctrine and claim preached and propagated even in His name that we may see whether the things we are presented with are of God (Acts 17:11) and so that we may be better able to test everything that we read and hear against the scriptures, let us all take care that we know well the scriptures that we are admonished to study well. (2 Tim. 2:15)
