Don't Behave The Way Or Dress In A Way That Invites Judgment And Scrutiny You Don't Want

Tracy Barbin, a British lawmaker attended a parliamentary session in lewd and immodest attire and when critics rebuked her for her lewd behavior she called them sexist claiming that women are often judged by what they wear and not what by they are saying.  Her argument is a common argument that many women have used to justify lewd and immodest behavior, and I know I am probably going to get a lot of flak for this, but ladies, I have news for you:

What you wear can speak so loudly that no one can hear a word you have to say.  If you really want to be heard, make sure that whatever it is you decide to wear is not going so noisy that it drowns out your voice.  How we behave has consequences and the consequences you reap for how you behave and live your lives include how you are perceived.

Barbin in one of her tweets stated the following:

I can confirm I’m not....
A slag
Hungover
A tart
About to breastfeed
A slapper
Drunk
Just been banged over a wheelie bin.

Well Barbin, if you are not any of those things, then don’t behave that way, don’t dress that way, and don’t go to work dressed like that.  You earn the judgment that your conduct deserves.  Everything you say and do is subject to scrutiny whether you like it or not.

And this I say, not just to Barbin, nor just to women, but to everyone in general:  If you want to be treated with respect and dignity, then conduct yourself accordingly and that includes what you wear, but if you think so liberating and empowering to behave in a lewd and immodest fashion, then be willing to accept the consequences for your decision to behave that way because that is all a part of taking responsibility for your actions and the choices you make.

But for those women who would object to the admonishment of dressing and conducting themselves in a modest manner, they object only because they refuse to take responsibility for how they behave.  They don’t think it is fair that they have to suffer consequences for dressing a certain way, but the world just doesn’t work that way and no amount of protest, shaming, or name-calling that I am anticipating to be directed at me is going to change that.  There have always been consequences for our behavior, actions, and choices and there always will be and the greatest consequence of all that is largely dismissed are the eternal consequences.  We, both men and women, have all been created by a God before whom all of us are going to have to give an answer for all that we have done in this life, for every word spoken, and every thought and motive entertained.

And we have all sinned and fallen short of God’s glory (Rom. 3:23) which is moral perfection, ever since the first man Adam and Eve from whom we are all descended.  They were given a simple command to not eat the fruit of a certain tree called the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, (Gen. 2:16-17) and yet failed to keep that one command and when they disobeyed, everything changed, turning the universe from a peaceful harmonious place to a place that is dying and falling apart; a place of death, decay, suffering, pain, grief, strife, and struggle.

This present world in which we live was never a part of God’s perfect design, but became that way because of Adam (Rom. 8:19-23) by whom sin came to all people (Rom. 5:12) and as a consequence, death. (Rom. 6:23)

It is from Adam that we have inherited a corruption of our nature which is called sin which causes us to fall short of moral perfection every day and as a consequence, we die, but even worse than death itself, is that our sin has separated us from our Creator who is perfect and holy because perfection cannot dwell with imperfection and holiness cannot dwell alongside unholiness, neither can good peacefully coexist with evil.

And because we are all tainted by sin no matter what we try to do, we will never be able to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven by any amount of good works we try to do, because every sin committed demands a punishment and that punishment lasts for all eternity, but out of His love for us, God has offered us mercy and forgiveness through Christ Jesus our Lord who came to earth as God in the flesh (Jn. 1) to die on the cross for our sins and to be raised from the dead so that anyone placing their trust in Him for salvation and in nothing else and no one else, may be forgiven of their sins.

I would urge you not to harden your heart against the offer of forgiveness that Christ is extending to you today if you feel the Holy Spirit tugging at your heart and speaking to your conscience.  Turn away from your sin and selfishness and give yourself to Christ today that you might escape the terrible everlasting punishment that awaits those who die in unrepentance.  God would rather have you dwell with Him for all eternity and He sent Christ to be that perfect means of redemption for you, but you have a choice as to whether or not to accept the mercy and forgiveness offered you and if you choose to harden your heart and reject His offer of salvation, then He will respect your decision to spend eternity apart from Him, but the place of punishment was never initially created for man.  It was created for another group of beings led by an angel called Lucifer who tried to usurp the throne of God Heaven and make Himself equal to God (Is. 14:12-21) and as a consequence, he and the angels who followed him in rebellion are destined to face eternal torment.

But God would not have that be your fate, but yet if you choose to rebel against your Maker and side with the forces of darkness, then you are in essence choosing that to be your fate, but if you would not rather that eternal punishment be your destiny, then receive the forgiveness offered by Jesus Christ today; do not put it off a moment longer.

If you are not sure what to say, here is an example of a prayer you can pray:

"Lord Jesus I need you.
I realize that I am a sinner
who has fallen short of the glory of God
and that my goodness falls short
of His standard of Moral perfection.

Please forgive me of all of my sins.
Come into my heart and into my life
to be the Savior and Lord of my life.
Make me into the servant and follower
that you want me to be.

In your name Lord Jesus, I pray.

Amen."

The Lord is not concerned with the words that you use as but only with the attitude and sincerity within your heart and if you have, with all sincerity, have asked Him to forgive you of your sins and to be your Savior and Lord, you are already saved and will one day spend eternity with Him forever.
