Everyone Reaches A Critical Conjuncture In Their Lives

I don’t normally write posts covering political issues on this blogsite, even if I do comment on them and sometimes post news stories covering important events in the political arena on the SM platforms on which Contender’s Edge is established, but I felt the Holy Spirit inspiring me to comment on this following news item from the Gateway Pundit which involved Dan Scavino, a trusted and loyal aid to President Trump.  In short, the pictures posted by Scavino depict our President to be at a critical crossroads at which any decision that he makes regarding the present challenges will have consequences, not just for himself, but for an entire nation.

He has to decide which path will most likely accomplish the most amount of good, produce the results sought after, as well as the least amount of backlash; there is going to be backlash no matter what happens.

Now, I do not know what is going to happen on Jan. 20th or what will happen afterward and while not everyone may have the fate of an entire nation placed in their hands, there are always critical conjunctures that everyone faces in their lives that can have life-changing consequences such as who they decide to marry, whether or not to pursue higher education and if they do, what college or university they attend, and what job or career they set their sites on but the most critical conjuncture in life that all face is that which will determine their fate when they pass from this life and which will determine the course of this life for them and it is a critical crossroads in life that all have reached since day one of mankind.

That critical conjuncture in life is where we choose between good and evil, salvation or damnation, life or death, Heaven or Hell.  Every choice we make has consequences that are further reaching than we can comprehend and they do not just affect just ourselves, but can affect even those with whom we come into contact, just as one act of the first man and woman resulted in consequences that extended beyond themselves and to a magnitude beyond what they could have possibly imagined.

Prior to that one act, the world was a different place than it presently is today.  There was no death, sorrow, grief, pain, or suffering of any kind.  There was harmony between man and nature and unity with the God who made all things, but a critical choice was placed before man.  In the midst of a garden were two trees:  The tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

By eating from the tree of life, man could live forever, but if he took from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, he was warned that he would surely die. (Gen. 2:16-17)

Sadly, the first man Adam, along with his wife Eve, from whom all of mankind descend, disobeyed the one command that forbade them to eat the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and it was in that moment that things started to change from the beautiful and harmonious world that was created into the present condition of this fallen and increasingly evil world filled with death, and every form of misery, suffering, despair, and pain that there could be; that affecting not only mankind, but all of creation as well (Rom. 8:19-22)

When Adam and Eve had eaten from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, they were then cut off from the tree of life and the personal and direct fellowship that they had once enjoyed with their Maker was ended due to the sin which had entered into them after they had eaten that forbidden fruit.

Before they had eaten that fruit, they were able to meet with God face to face, but now no longer.

It was in that moment that the sin which estranged them from the direct presence of their Maker brought about their spiritual death along with the death of their bodies but that sentence of death did not end with them, for once they had eaten that fruit, sin entered into them and changed their nature from that which was pure and innocent to that which was corrupted and opposed to all that God had designed them to be which was then passed down to all of mankind which is why we all sin and therefore we all die (Rom. 5:12) as is the required penalty for all sin (Rom. 6:23) and it is this inherent sinful nature that causes all to sin and fall short of the glory of God (Rom. 3:23) being that state of moral perfection; that standard measuring not only our outward behavior and actions or even all the words that come out of our mouths, but even our inner most being.  Even one impure thought or corrupt motive is enough to cause us to fail such a high standard and such demand a punishment as much any outward sin and is enough to estrange any from their Maker.  No amount of good works on our part can ever expunge our sins for sin is ever present with us even when we want to do that which is good and pleasing in the sight of our Lord and since the God who made us is perfect so also is His justice and His justice demands punishment for every sin which is death not only to our bodies but also a death to our very souls which comes by eternal separation from our Maker resulting in a terrifying and everlasting torment for those who die in their sinful condition apart from a means of redemption made on their behalf and such redemption has been provided by our Maker, who, out of His love for us, has desired to show us mercy and grace through Christ Jesus our Lord and King who gave Himself for us by taking upon Himself the required punishment for our sins by His death on the cross and His resurrection from the dead by which the demanded penalty for sin is satisfied and redemption is made for those who place their trust in Christ for the forgiveness of sins that they may not face damnation but be granted everlasting salvation; no longer being estranged from their Maker by sin, but reconciled to Him, and with the redemption of the soul will come the redeeming of our bodies from death (1 Cor. 15:51-55, 1 Thess. 4:13-18) and lastly, creation itself will be redeemed from the curse that it was placed under on account of Adam with the creation of a new and better world wherein there is no curse, no death, nor sin.  All the present evils, pain, suffering, sorrow, and grief that we experience today will be cast away.  (Rev. 21-22)

But presently, we are face with this choice; a choice that affects the course of our very lives and where we will spend eternity.

Fellowship with God or enmity with Him
Light or darkness
Good or evil
Life or death
Salvation or damnation
Godliness or ungodliness
Heaven or Hell.

If we choose God, then we must also choose the remedy for sin provided for us in Christ Jesus and in doing so, we are choosing Heaven.

But if we reject Him and his offer of forgiveness, then we are choosing for ourselves eternal damnation in which we have nothing more to look forward to than eternal torment, but God is not willing that any should suffer judgment, but that all would come to repentance (2 Pet. 3:9) but there will come a day when the wickedness of this world is going to reach its measure and at that point, judgment will come, and there will be a day when all of us will have to stand before God to give an account of all the things that we have said and done.  Even our very thought life and inward motivations will be subject to judgment.

That is why I urge you to choose Christ today so that you will not have to face what will otherwise be a fearful and everlasting judgment but find everlasting peace, comfort, joy, and happiness in the presence of the King.  If you wish to give yourself over to the Lord who is able to take away all sin and restore a right standing before Almighty God but are not sure what to ask, then here is an example of what to pray:

"Lord Jesus I need you.

I realize that I am a sinner
who has fallen short of the glory of God
and that my goodness falls short
of His standard of Moral perfection.
Please forgive me of all of my sins.
Come into my heart and into my life
to be the Savior and Lord of my life.
Make me into the servant and follower
that you want me to be.

In your name Lord Jesus, I pray.

Amen."

Know that God is not concerned with the words that you use to call upon Him forgiveness, but with the attitude of your heart and if you have, with all sincerity, have asked Christ to forgive you of your sins, placing your trust in Him only for your salvation and in nothing else, then your sins are forgiven and your place in Heaven is certain.
