When
we abandoned our spiritual heritage, we ceased to be the light of the world that
America used to be which is why we went from a blessing to the world to being a
curse to the world, from being an exporter of things profitable to an exporter
of those things depraved and worthless,
from
being set apart from the rest of the world to wanting to be more like the rest
of the world, from being respected by the other nations to being despised and
in the most recent years, even a laughing stock.
We
went from being a self-sufficient nation to one in a state of dependency upon
foreign trade, even going so far as to depending upon our enemies for the
products that we need to sustain ourselves.
We
went from being an economically prosperous nation to one in danger of economic
collapse.
We
went from being a responsible nation to one irresponsible with both our
security and money-spending.
We
went from a nation with trustworthy and dependable academic institutions to a
nation infested with government schools, colleges, and universities with no
sincere interest in providing an honest education but instead anything but an
honest education replete with the poisoning of the minds of our students against
everything that once made our nation great.
We
went from a nation with an honest media to one with media that spews forth
lies.
We
went from a nation in which there was once entertainment that celebrated the
things of life and exalted those things good, honorable, virtuous, and
righteous to an entertainment industry that declares good to be evil and evil
to be good, that glorifies death, mocks, ridicules, and even vilifies those
things sacred, pure, despises that which is honorable and affirms that which is
dishonorable and which spreads their filth and depravity throughout the world.
We
went from a nation with strong stable family units to a nation plague with
dysfunctional, divided, and broken households.
We
went from a nation once morally upright to a nation in which immorality abounds.
We
went from a nation in which governing authorities could be trusted to rule
justly, swiftly punish evil doers, promptly administer justice, maintain peace
and order, and to defend the liberties that we hold dear to a nation which our
government can no longer be trusted at any given level to maintain peace, safety,
and order, but instead enable lawlessness, punishes the innocent, makes excuses
for the wicked, constantly violates our Constitutionally protected liberties, and
filled with corruption and wickedness.
And
much of the Church, rather than being the spiritual and moral conscience of the
nation, has either remained silent or has affirmed the evils of our society
rather than speaking out against them and rather than remain set apart from the
world has joined itself to this present world and the ways thereof.
And
it all began when we abandoned our spiritual heritage and began heaping to
ourselves spirits of a different nature than the one whose principles this
nation was founded upon as became increasingly evident over time as the courts banned
voluntary prayer in the public schools, and then banned the reading of divinely
inspired scripture in the classroom shortly afterwards, and alongside that, the
passing of the infamous passing of the Johnson Amendment which was a form of bribery
to the religious establishment in exchange for them to cease praising or condemning
any particular political figure. Later,
came that terrible but now thankfully overturned Roe .v. Wade, which permitted
the callous and cold-hearted wholesale slaughter of millions of unborn babies,
and then lastly came the legalization of gay marriage which is nothing more
than a mockery of marriage; all of which being the end result of what the
culture had become.
But
that is never to say that there is no hope for America or that nothing good
remains in America at all. There is
still plenty of good that remains in America and there are yet signs of hope
for America.
Roe
.v. Wade has been overturned,
our
first and second amendment rights, which are constantly under attack, have, for
the most part, been upheld and defended by our courts,
there
is a growing homeschool movement which intends to give our children an honest
education without any desire to undermine the authority of their parents and to
be a refuge from the poisonous lies that are being taught in our schools,
colleges, and universities,
we
have overcome the censorship of the big tech companies through the
establishment of various different SM platforms and search engines that are NOT
google owned,
various
alternative media outlets have been established willing to speak truth and
report on things that the mainstream manure pile refuses to do,
and
states like TX, FL, and now even AZ are now taking action to counter the
destructive measures of the evil Biden creature and his puppeteers (whoever
they may be).
Many
are also experiencing a mass disillusionment with the institutions in which we
once placed our trust and our learning that all institutions be they private or
public are subject to error and corruption and that no movement, political
party, branch of government, or academia, is without some degree of corruption or
error, that our media and religious establishments can lead us astray, our
places of worship may not always provide us the comfort or answers that we seek
during difficult times, and that our entertainment industry cannot be relied
upon to provide us a healthy escape from the cares and worries of this life.
But,
as I mentioned in a previous blogpost, [1] what needs to follow that Great Disillusionment,
is that Great Awakening that many people of faith have desired and even prayed
for.
But
there is a lot of work to be done in order to make that happen and it is not
going to happen from the top down but it must begin from the bottom up and
within each and every one of us. Our
hearts, minds, and souls need to be open to that inward transformation of our
own selves in order for this Great Awakening to be possible and not only that,
we need to learn what it takes to maintain that Great Awakening for as long as
we possibly can. But first of all we
need to learn what it is within us that needs to be transformed and when we learn
what it is that needs to be transformed within us and why that transformation
is necessary before we can submit ourselves to it even though not everyone will.
That
transformation that must begin and be maintained from the bottom up is not a
transformation that is economic, political, or academic. It runs much deeper than that. It is a moral and spiritual transformation
that we all must embrace if we ever wish to see our concerns effectively
addressed, if we truly wish to see a societal change for the better, and if we
want to see the nation as we know it today to be not only preserved but even
better than it is today.
Our
nation was made great not because our economy is the strongest, or because we
have the best military, or because we have the best educators, doctors, and
scientists, or because we produce the best products, or because we have the
best innovators and the smartest people in the world, but because we were built
and established on a philosophy; a philosophy called liberty and a liberty that
is the result of a liberty that begins within our hearts, minds, and souls, and
then is manifested in the outward liberties that we hold dear such as the
freedom of speech, the right to bear arms, the right to live in accordance to
the dictates of our respective religious faith and conscience, the right to
raise up our children in the manner we see fit, to have them educated in
whatever manner we deem appropriate, to associate with whom we wish or to not
associate with those with whom we want nothing to do with, the right to defend
ourselves who threaten us and those whom we hold dear without fear of civic repercussions,
the right to elect and retain the leadership that we desire, and to participate
in a free and prosperous economy in which there is equal opportunity for all
people regardless of skin-color, ethnicity, lineage, family background,
nationality, economic or social status, age, or gender, and in which everyone
is free to pursue the dreams and ambitions placed in their heart and to
exercise the gifts and talents instilled in them in accordance to that
respective purpose and calling placed upon not by the will of man but by the
will of the God who created them and who created the heavens, earth, and everything
within them.
But
when the nation turned away from the God who is ever able to provide liberty
everlasting, we also turned away from His laws, precepts, guidance, counsel,
and truth and with that, we have been steadily losing the way of life that we
have enjoyed, the perils that we face from both without and within have
increased, lies, deception, immorality, corruption within our trusted
institutions, instability within the family home, criminal activity, and
spiritual darkness within our society have become rampant, reason has given way
to madness, wisdom has been replaced by foolishness, where once was hope is now
despair, those places in which the light of God once dwelt have now become
places of darkness, apathy and selfishness filling the void of honorable and
respectable ambitions, our faith in an unfailing God is being replaced with a
trust in things subject to failure at the most critical conjunctures of our
lives, the liberties that we have held dear are being stolen from us and what
we have left is increasingly under attack, accountability and responsibility
are increasingly lacking in every branch and level of our society, the ability
to economically prosper is becoming less tenable, and our governing authorities
can no longer be trusted to properly administer justice or to do whatever is
necessary to maintain peace, order, and safety, nor can they be relied upon to serve
the best interests of the public; everything that we once looked to for security,
stability, trustworthy guidance, accurate knowledge and information, and comfort
are but a reflection of what we as a people and society have become.
Granted
that, as one commentator for the publication, American Greatness noted, [2] we should not
rely on the likes of Hollywood and Disney or the major sports leagues for our
entertainment but we need to produce our own entertainment, nor should we place
our trust in any governing authorities to properly educate our children. We need to form our own educational
establishments that we see fit; ones run by families and supported by our
places of worship and our local communities; academic institutions that we can
trust to provide the education we deem appropriate and honest and whatever curriculum
each respective household deems fit for their children and is consistent with
their respective convictions, beliefs, and values. And we should not rely on the likes of “Google”
for our information. We need to seek out
sources more trustworthy. And we cannot
rely on government to solve all of our problems. In truth, the government, depending on who is
bearing rule, may only serve to exacerbate our current problems and even if
they do solve some problems, they may end up creating others in the process.
Where
we really need to begin is with an earnest seeking of our Creator, just as
previous generations have done, to devote ourselves to Him just as the Pilgrims
and Puritans had done, and to learn and apply His truth and principles to our
lives just as the founders of this nation had done.
For
if the Lord God who made the heavens and the earth has sustained those who
earnestly seek His face during times of difficulty and testing, will He not do
the same for us?
If
God is able to deliver and keep they of generations past from needless trouble,
will He not also deliver us from they who would seek to oppress and destroy us
if we will but devote our lives to Him as well?
If
He has met the needs and made provision for the saints of old who placed their
faith in Him, will He not do the same for us if we are willing to do the same?
And
if He has redeemed from their sins they who have turned away from their wicked
ways and have cried out to Him for forgiveness, will He not also continue to do
the same for any of us willing to repent of those things sinful, displeasing, dishonoring,
wicked, and evil in His sight and cry out to Him for the forgiveness of sins?
And
if the redeemer of our souls is able to transform the most cruel and vilest of
persons into the most godly and righteous people to have ever walked the earth,
can He also not do the same in us who are willing to submit ourselves to the
inward change that He desires to bring about in each and every one of us?
And
this is where we come to it: That inward
change that is much needed within all of us because we all have in some form or
fashion fallen short and continue to fall short of that state of moral
perfection desired and required of us by our Maker (Rom. 3:23) and why we fall
short is due to an inherently corrupt nature present within each and every one
of us that is traced back to Adam who is the ancestor of all of mankind and
which was from him passed down to the rest of us, but when God first created
man, that inherent corruption did not exist within man nor did anything else
associated with it, but Adam, just as the rest of us are, was given a choice
between life and death in the form of two trees that were planted in the midst
of a garden located in an ancient land called Eden; the tree of life and the
tree of the knowledge of good and evil. (Gen. 2:9) Man was blessed with more liberty in that day
than he ever was afterward. He was just
forbidden one thing: The fruit from the
tree of the knowledge of good and evil, being warned that in the day that he ate
the fruit thereof, he would surely die (Gen. 2:16-17, 3:3) but sadly, and
tragically, he disobeyed that one command and ate of that forbidden fruit and
it was in that day, that this corruption within all of us and which the Bible
calls sin entered into him and it was in that day, the sentence of death was
placed upon him (Gen. 3:19) but that sentence of death was not confined to just
the first man Adam or his wife Eve, whom God created as an intimate companion
and help-meet for Adam. It was also passed
down to us because that sin which entered into both Adam and his wife Eve, also
passed down to us which is why we all sin (Rom. 5:12) and as a consequence, are
all subject to death (Rom. 6:23) but the consequences of sin not only affect
mankind, but its taint has extended to all of creation itself which is why it
is written that the entire creation groans and travails in pain to this day. (Rom.
8:19-22)
Sin
taints, defiles, corrupts, twists, and distorts more than we can comprehend and
it is due to its immense pervasiveness that it must face eventual punishment, which
requires eventual judgment coming upon those who remain in their sin and how
terrible and fearful will that punishment be; an everlasting punishment of
ongoing torment without relief of the likes that will never be experienced in
this present life for those who reject the call to repentance and instead take
pleasure in their sin instead of those things good, pure, holy, and righteous
in the sight of God, but in His love and mercy, the Almighty has made a way for
the repentant sinner to escape that terrible judgment in that He sent His only
begotten Son, Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, to offer Himself up as that
needed sacrifice on our behalf, perfect and unblemished (2 Cor. 5:21, Heb. 7:26-27)
thereby satisfying the demanded penalty for our sins and purchasing redemption
for us through His death upon the cross upon which His blood was shed, and then
after having died for our sins, rose again from the dead on the third day so
that our faith in Him for the forgiveness of sins would be justified. (Rom.
4:25)
And
upon repentance, we then receive in us that Holy Spirit who makes us into a new
person in the Lord; (2 Cor. 5:17) that kind of spiritual transformation that
causes men to no longer follow after selfish and worldly pursuits but after
those things that pertain to the Kingdom of Heaven,
to
no longer taking pleasure in those things that are evil and displeasing in the
sight of the Lord, but in that which is good, right, and pleasing in His sight,
to
no longer desire to walk in the lies of this present world, but only in the
truth that comes from Christ Almighty, no longer placing our hopes in the
things of this present world, but looking forward to that new and better world
to come,
to
no longer rely on worldly resources, men, or even our own power, abilities,
skills, and wisdom for our needs and provision but upon God who is able to meet
all of our needs, recognizing that the resources of this world and even the
people He brings into our lives are but instruments and vessels through which
God meets our needs and that the skills, power, knowledge, and wisdom by which
we might acquire our provision are provided and instilled in us by God,
to
no longer fear what men can do to us, but rather fearing the God before whom we
will have to one day give an account for how we lived our lives,
to
no longer look to corruptible institutions within our society for direction and
order in our lives but to God who, by His written Word has given us laws and
precepts to be applied to our lives and which serve to produce and maintain an
ordered life, and who, by His Holy Spirit which comes to dwell within us upon
repentance, establishes in our lives a course and direction in our lives to
pursue for His glory,
to
no longer seek our own glory but the glory of God,
to
no longer rally behind corruptible men, but instead behind the incorruptible
God in Heaven bearing in mind that those men and women God raises up for our
edification are but instruments and servants of His for that respective purpose
to which He has called them,
no
longer seeking to align ourselves with the things of darkness but only with the
things of the light,
to
no longer depend on the wisdom of the world but only on the wisdom and
knowledge that comes from above,
and
to no longer trust in corruptible earthly authorities to swiftly administer
justice, but only in the power of God to deliver us from evil.
And
the more of us embrace the forgiveness of sins offered to us by the Savior of
the world and submit our hearts, minds, and souls to the transformative power
of the His Spirit, the greater of a difference we will see in how households
are run, how marriages are maintained, how children are raised, in the
sincerity and authenticity of religious leadership, in how education is taught,
how news is reported, in how business is conducted and how the private sector
is operated, in what is affirmed in our entertainment industry, and in the manner
of governance we live under.
It
is only when enough of us turn to Jesus Christ who redeems us out of all of our
sins and submit to His Kingship and commit ourselves to standing in the
authority of His Word that we will begin to see just how much we do not need
the likes of Google to seek out information, that we need not look to the likes
of the mainstream manure pile for our news, that we need not depend on
government funded academic institutions for our education and enlightenment, that
we need not seek out the depravity and darkness of Disney and Hollywood for our
entertainment, that we need not call upon the international globalist body for
aid in troubled times, and that even the religious figures, including our pastors
and clergy, although appointed ministers and stewards of God’s truth, should
never be elevated to the status of being the sole arbiters of His truth.
It
is only then when, as commentator Anthony Esolen of American Greatness
longs to see, just as many of the rest of us do, that we, provided that we
place full trust and faith in our Creator for all of our needs, look to Him for
guidance, and rely on His power, that we can confidently and boldly say to our
enemies and would be oppressors, no matter how powerful they may be:
“We
do not need you, Google,” or Congress, or Hollywood, or Archer Daniels Midland,
or the National Education Association, as the case may be. “We love our
families and our land, and our history, but we do not love you. You are giants.
We know it. You are as stupid and fumbling as giants, and wherever your foot
lands, it destroys. Get lost.” [3]
But
first we must boldly and confidently say that we love God and live and act like
we love Him and it all begins with a willingness to turn away from our sins and
to embrace His offer of forgiveness and salvation in Christ Jesus, a
willingness to be spiritually transformed, and a willingness to embrace the
truth, law, and counsel of God and apply it to our daily lives in everything we
do and in every choice we make, especially critical life-changing choices.
We
must resolve and commit ourselves to placing our full faith and trust in our
Creator for our provision and needs.
We
must commit ourselves to looking to our Maker for the wisdom and the counsel we
need.
We
must commit ourselves to obeying the laws of God above the laws and traditions
of men whenever the two conflict and to fear God more than any man with the full
knowledge that every one will be judged of God and will give an account for everything
that they have said and spoken and for even the very thoughts that they have
harbored and entertained in their hearts and minds.
We
must commit ourselves to giving ourselves to the business of the kingdom of
heaven above all else trusting in the promise that everything else that we need
and have even longed for will be added to us.
We
must commit ourselves to embracing the truth of God alone and reject everything
running contrary to, and to stand in the authority of that truth.
We
must commit ourselves to aligning ourselves with those things that are of God
and to stand against those things that are not of God and are at enmity with Him.
And
our lives must only revolve around those things that are good, honorable, and pleasing
in the eyes of our Maker and not around selfish desires, worldly pleasures, and
those things that are depraved, perverse, reprobated, dark, sinful, corrupt,
and evil.
For
it is only an embracing of our Creator and His gift of redemption in Christ
Jesus that we will truly Make America Great Again for as it is written, “Blessed
is the nation whose God is the Lord.” (Ps. 33:12)
But
He gives us this warning:
at
what instant shall I speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to
build and to plant it? If it do evil in
my sight that it obey not my voice, then I will repent of the good wherewith I
said I would benefit them. (Jer. 18:9-10)
Yet
assures us if we will turn to Him and submit ourselves to His authority:
At
what instant shall I speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to
pluck up, and to pull down and to destroy it;
If that nation, against whom I have pronounced, turn from their evil, I
will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them. (Jer. 18:7-8)
If
we do not wish to see our nation as we know it plucked up, pulled down, and
destroyed from either without or within and if we ourselves do not wish to be plucked
up, pulled down, and destroyed, then we need to commit ourselves from plucking
out of our own lives anything we find to be displeasing and evil in the eyes of
our Creator and we need to pull down those things that compete for our worship of
and devotion to the God who made us and we need to cast out of our midst they who
would attempt to turn us away from worshipping and serving the God from whom
goodness, blessing, and mercy have been bestowed and continue to be so, yet we
are in danger of losing those blessings which we have enjoyed and taken for granted
and mercy that has been shown to this great nation may one day run out if we do
not begin turning to the God upon whose laws, principles, and counsel this
nation was founded.
But
if we will join ourselves to the Kingdom of God, which is eternal, just as God
Himself is eternal, and if we will each do our respective part in the expansion
of His Kingdom, and plant within our nation those things that are good,
pleasing, honorable, and respectable in the eyes of our Lord and which will
bring praise, honor, and glory to His name, then He may very well shield and
deliver us from the dangers that we face.
If
any of you reading this post have not yet made yourselves members of the
Kingdom of God or are not sure if you are a part of His Kingdom, it is but a
prayer of repentance away:
"Lord
Jesus I need you.
I
realize that I am a sinner
who
has fallen short of the glory of God
and
that my goodness falls short
of
your standard of Moral perfection.
Please
forgive me of all of my sins.
Come
into my heart and into my life
to
be the Savior and Lord of my life.
Make
me into the servant and follower
that
you want me to be.
In
your name Lord Jesus, I pray.
Amen."
Know
that God is not concerned with the words that you use to call upon Him
forgiveness, but with the attitude of your heart and if you have, with all
sincerity, have asked Christ to forgive you of your sins, placing your trust in
Him only for your salvation and in nothing else, then your sins are forgiven
and your place in Heaven is certain.
