Heaven Has Borders (And They Are Not Open Borders But Secure Borders)

“Verily, verily I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber…I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.” Jn. 10:1, 9

If we will not do the will of God on earth, why would we ever do it in Heaven?
If we are not willing to submit ourselves to the authority of Heaven now, why would we then?
Heaven has an obligation to all of creation and to its members to secure its borders and to keep out anyone or anything that refuses to submit themselves to its authority and assimilate to its ways because if it allowed into its kingdom things incompatible and unrepentant sinners, the Kingdom would then become every bit as defiled and as unpleasant as the earth presently is and a nation or kingdom that fails to secure its borders is left vulnerable to exploiters, thieves, robbers, plunderers, and invaders and if overrun, will lose its culture, identity, sovereignty and its liberty.

Those governments who refuse to keep secure their borders and who refuse to apply a strict vetting process to all who seek to enter in are guilty of being in dereliction of their duties to their nation, its culture and society, and to its respective people and if we think about it, secure borders and the strict vetting of all who seek to enter is not just an earthly concept.  It is a heavenly concept and first practiced in Heaven before it became a practice on the earth and it is wisdom and common sense that can come from no other source but from the Heavenly Kingdom itself.

For a nation and kingdom to survive, the preservation of its identity is vital and that means not allowing anything that would compromise or erase its identity into its midst and when it comes to those seeking to enter into that nation or kingdom, that nation or kingdom will be confronted with the two following types:

1.  Those who are willing to assimilate, renounce everything that has made their nation destitute and kept it in bondage, and be productive contributing members of our nation

2.  Those who come, not to pursue a better life for themselves or to assimilate and be productive members of our society but who come to steal, kill, and destroy and who seek to replace the respective worldview of that nation and people with their own and even with the very worldview and policies that produced the poor and miserable conditions in the respective place of origin they left.

And it is due to this failure to distinguish between the two that had contributed to the fall of nations and empires in times past and as a consequence, they lost their identities and their respective cultures to invading forces that they neglected to guard against and even in our time, we see that Europe, or most of Europe anyway, is in danger of losing its respective identity and culture due to poor immigration policies and as a consequence, multitudes of foreigners are entering into the midst of many countries who have no interest in assimilating, but with every intention of turning Europe into the very places from which they came and when people of western society express that there is a danger of civilizational collapse due to mass unvetted migration, that should be taken as a valid concerned.

Granted that we should not be opposed to foreigners coming to live among us in our respective nations but that must come with conditions and that is that they assimilate and become productive contributors to our respective nations, that they submit themselves to our respective laws and authorities, and have respect for our respective customs and traditions and not demand that we should abandon those thing which we have held dear and which have shaped and preserved the identity of each respective nation and society to accommodate for values which they refuse to relinquish.

For example, when Daniel and his three companions were taken into captivity by the Babylonians, they did not demand that their captors abide by Jewish dietary laws, but simply refused to eat anything that violated the dietary laws that they followed, even if it meant that they just drank water and ate vegetables (Dan.  1)
Shadrach, Meschech, and Abednego, when it was demanded of them to worship the golden image that king Nebuchadnezzar set up, did not demand that the people of Babylon not worship the image, but simply refused to worship the image themselves, even at the risk of their own lives (Dan. 3) and yet for their faithfulness to their respective faith, Daniel and his companions were held in high regard.

They made no demand of the Babylonian people to abandon their respective customs, traditions, or even their false gods. They only determined in their hearts to remain faithful to the one true God and to His respective laws, ordinances, observances, and precepts.
They were not a terror to the people around them, but sought their peace.

But that is far different from those who come into a nation not their own and demand that grocery stores and restaurants accommodate for their respective faith by providing them with foods they deem acceptable, protest the respective observances and festivities of the nations they enter, desecrate sacred spaces, and terrorize the citizens of those respective nations to which they entered.

If you from a foreign nation seek to reside in my country, you have every right to eat or not eat whatever you wish, but don’t demand that I conform to your dietary preferences.
You have every right to practice the faith of your choice, but don’t demand that I do not practice mine.
And you have every right to not participate in the holidays of my respective nation, but do not demand that I stop taking part in them.
And if you want become a part of my respective nation, assimilate, learn to speak our language, educate yourself as much as you can in the history and culture of this nation, respect and abide by the culture, customs, and traditions its citizens share in common, make yourself subject to the governing powers thereof, and be a productive and contributing member of our society but if you will not agree to these things, then go back to where you came from because we are not interested in becoming like the nation you came from.

But this principle of secure borders and vetting those who seek entry does not apply to just nations.  It also applies to institutions and even households as well.  If any given institution, movement, or organization is to remain true to its intended purpose, then it is vital that its identity preserved and that can only be done by ensuring all of its members abide according to its intended purpose and dedicate themselves to upholding the principles and values upon which that institution, movement, or organization was built but when the members within any given institution, movement, or organization fail to take the necessary measures to preserve the very elements by which its identity is shaped and uphold the values and principles upon which it was founded, it is then that institution, organization, or movement is eventually removed from its intended purpose, becomes unrecognizable from what it once was, and even loses the credibility and respect that it once had and this has happened far too often to institutions and organizations once honorable and respectable and to movements well-intended.

The Church has been no exception to this as upon its founding, it knew its mission.
It knew its doctrine.
It knew how its members were supposed to conduct themselves.
And it knew whom it served and to ensure that this would always be the case, Jesus and the Apostles emphasized accountability (Mt. 18:15-17, 1 Cor. 5:1-8, 11, 13, Titus 2:10, 13, Rev. 2:14-15, 20-23) and constantly warned of anything that might lead members of the Church away from the teachings and instruction once given to it (Mt. 7:15-20, Acts 20:28-31, 2 Cor. 11:3-4, 12-15, Gal. 1:6-9, 1 Tim. 1:19-20, 4:1-3, 7, 5:22, 6:3-5, 20-21, 2 Tim. 2:16-18, 23, Titus 1:10-16, 2:11, 2 Pet. 2, 3:15-16, 1 Jn. 4:1-3, Jude, Rev. 2:14-15, 20-23) and the Apostles had taken great pains and labored tirelessly to ensure that members of the Church lived and conducted themselves in a way worthy of the name of Jesus who serves as the chief cornerstone of that institution and to preserve the purity of its doctrine, teachings, and instructions which is why that if we want to know how Christians are supposed to conduct themselves, how they are to live their lives, how they are to treat each other and those around them, and what doctrine and instruction that they are supposed to abide in, look no further than Christ and that Apostolic generation and look no further than the doctrine and testimony of scripture to which they both adhered and to which they appealed for it is that generation that serve as the best example that there could be.

I don’t look to any generation beyond that of the Apostolic generation as an authority as I see each generation afterward as a sad testimony of the gradual departure of the Church from the pure doctrine to which it once adhered and taught, but that does not mean that there haven’t been godly men and women in their own right throughout the generation who sought to walk in the purity of that very truth, doctrine, testimony, and instruction that can only come from God Almighty and even defend it against any and all attacks; even the reformers had fought very hard to return the body of Christ to that pre-papal doctrine of purity and although not entirely successful, they were able to at least set the precedent for future generations to be able to return to that doctrinal purity, but the reason why the Church is so divided in matters of faith and doctrine, their treatment of the scriptures by which the Gospel of Jesus Christ is delivered, and even who God is and His nature is due, in many cases, to teachings and doctrines foreign to the faith being brought and introduced to the ranks of the saints and introduced ever so cleverly with the sole intent of undermining the mission of the Church and by casting doubt in the minds and hearts of those professing followers of Christ of the very faith itself which they claim to have embraced and surrendered themselves to.

The lies and false doctrines that have been brought into the Church, which have sown division where there was once unity, confusion where there was once clarity, doubt where there was once assurance, and even an undermining and overthrowing of faith that was once secure and steadfast do not always appear blatantly contrary to the pure doctrine that was first delivered to the saints, but in many cases is far more subtle and more cleverly disguised, mixing a degree of truth with error as the more appeal there is to that which is true, the better able to deceive the saints and if possible, even lead some out of the faith and the reason why so much error, falsehood, and even heresy have become so rampant throughout the Church is because the Church has largely neglected to secure its borders and as a consequence, there are multitudes of congregants around the world who are believing things not taught in the divinely inspired scripture (2 Tim. 3:16) and are even opposed to that which is contained in scripture are taking things to be of the faith that were never of the faith but were introduced into the faith, and in the worst case scenario, are unregenerated and unconverted and will find themselves shut out of the Kingdom of Heaven, for as Jesus has warned, “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my father which is in heaven.  Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity” (Mt. 7:21-23) which is why we are admonished by the Apostle Paul to examine ourselves to see if we be in the faith (2 Cor. 13:5) and though there be those who may slip past the safeguards of the Church, they will not pass by the border security of Heaven and though many within the Church fail to be the light to the world that they are supposed to be and remain integrated with the world from which they are to be set apart, the light of Heaven will always pierce through the darkness of this present world and remain a Kingdom set apart from the kingdoms, nations, and empires of this world, but we who have not done our due diligence in guarding the borders of our hearts, minds, homes, and churches are going to have to give an account one day before the God of Heaven for our dereliction of duty and unlike other borders, the borders of the Kingdom of Heaven are going to expand until they have overtaken all of the nations and kingdoms of this earth and have transformed all of creation back into what God intended it to be.

The present world in which we live in is not what God desired or intended it to be.  It was a world that God had created to be a place of light and life and without death, pain, suffering, or evil and in that world existed a perfect and uninterrupted harmony between God, man, and nature until there arose a rebellion which did not begin on the earth, but which began in the Kingdom of Heaven, even before the earth was created and it began when a certain angel named Lucifer, who served as a covering cherub at the throne of God, became so lifted up in his pride that he thought he could make himself equal with God and even be a god himself which ended with him and those who sided with him against God being cast from their places in Heaven (Is. 14:11-29, Ezek. 28:12-19) and it was in that day that Lucifer became known and better known as Satan or the Devil and after losing his initial war for Heaven, he then crept into the newly formed earth in the form of a serpent and then accomplished in the earth what he could not in Heaven and what he accomplished was, through trickery and deceit, causing the first man Adam and the first woman Eve to commit a fateful and astronomically consequential act and that act that they were deceived into committing but had been warned against was the eating of a fruit from a certain tree called the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

When God had created Adam and Eve, there was nothing withheld from them except the fruit of that tree called the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, having been warned of God that in the day that they ate thereof, they would surely die (Gen. 2:16-17, 3:3) but with false assurances and empty promises, Satan caused the first man Adam whom God had created and the first woman Eve, being Adam’s wife, to eat of that forbidden fruit (Gen. 3:4-5) and instead of receiving the greatness that they were promised, they were reduced to an inferior state (Gen. 3:7 and just as they had been warned of God, the sentence of death was placed upon them (Gen. 3:19) for it was in that day when Adam and Eve ate of that forbidden fruit that sin entered into them and from them, the sin which entered into them and brought about their eventual deaths, was also passed down to all of mankind for all of us are descendants of that first man and that first woman and because we are their descendants, we have also inherited the sin that entered into them (Rom. 5:12) and because of that sin which we have inherited, we all sin in some form or fashion and as a consequence we all die for as it is written, the wages of sin is death (Rom. 6:23) but sin is not merely confined to outward behavior or performance or even the words we speak, but it is rather the inherent inward corruption of our very nature defiling our thoughts, hardening and darkening our hearts, and corrupting our very motives which is why it is written that we are not defiled from that which comes from without, but that which comes from within (Mt. 15:11, 18-20) and which is why it is written that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Rom. 3:23) which demands of us nothing less than moral perfection and not just in our outward acts but also in our inward as well which is why it is impossible by our own efforts and our own goodness to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven, for sin taints, corrupts, defiles, twists, and distorts more than we can comprehend and the effects of sin are not merely confined to mankind, but all of creation is subjected to a curse because of sin which is why it is written that the entire creation groans and travails in pain to this day (Rom. 8:19-22) but not only that, the transgression that Satan led Adam and Eve into committing made him justified in claiming lordship over all the nations, kingdoms, and empires of the earth, (Mt. 4:8-9, Lk. 4:6-7) which is why he is called the prince of this world (Jn. 12:31, 16:11) and is why this present world is in a sense now a kingdom of its own because of one man’s act of disobedience and one of such consequence which plunged the world into the present state that we know it to be and the only condition that we have ever known or experienced and it too is a kingdom with its rulers, powers, borders, and domains though not a unified kingdom, but a divided kingdom; divided between social and economic classes, political parties, various philosophies and religions, cultures, societies, civilizations, skin-color, generational brackets, nationalities, ethnicities, lineages, and even gender and different interests which has resulted in all kinds of dissentions, conflicts, wars, and even chaos; it is a world divided against itself and at war with itself and when one set of lies fails to sell, another set of lies comes in its place and it is a kingdom over which Satan and his minions have presided and who have taken multitudes captive with such ingenious subtlety, binding them with an invisible bondage, luring them into an unseen darkness, and into an eternal damnation to which they are made oblivious but the kingdom over which he rules, which is this present world, is a stolen kingdom filled with stolen souls which God will take back to Himself and when He does, He will purge and eliminate from it all of the evil that is in it and that must also include those who persist living in their sin and who take pleasure and joy in it for nothing that is contrary to the design of God will ever be fit for His Kingdom but before that day, the Lord God Almighty is giving all who are willing opportunity to turn away from their sins and from the dark things of this world and to become citizens of His Kingdom and the new and better world that is to come not willing that any should perish in their sins and face eternal damnation, (2 Pet. 3:9) but that all would come to repentance, and therefore has done for us what we could never do for ourselves in that He, in His graciousness has purchased redemption on our behalf in Christ Jesus, His only begotten Son, (Jn. 3:16) who came to us in the flesh, (Jn. 1:14) and being without any sin (2 Cor. 5:21) was made that perfect sacrifice (Heb. 7:26-27) that was needed to take away the sins of the world and because of His perfect goodness, He was able to offer Himself up on our behalf to satisfy the demanded penalty for all sin and granting mercy and grace through the shedding of His blood on the cross and after having died, rose again from the dead three days later that we might be justified in Him (Rom. 4:25) if we will but call upon His name so that we might be saved from what would otherwise be a terrifying everlasting punishment if we will but call upon His name (Rom. 10:9, 13) and believe in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead (Rom. 10:9) for it is by calling upon His name in sincere repentance that salvation is granted and our souls made clean from sin thereby liberating us from the threat of eternal damnation and with that cleansing comes a new spiritual transformation (2 Cor. 5:17) that causes us to no longer desire to follow after selfish and worldly pursuits but after those things that pertain to the Kingdom of Heaven,
to no longer take pleasure in those things that are evil and displeasing in the sight of the Lord, but in that which is good, right, and pleasing in His sight,
to no longer desire to walk in the lies of this present world, but only in the truth that comes from Christ Almighty who is the source of all truth, (Jn. 14:6)
no longer placing our hopes in the things of this present world, but looking forward to that new and better world to come, (Rev. 21-22)
to no longer rely on worldly resources, men, or even our own power, abilities, skills, and wisdom for our needs and provision but upon God who is able to meet all of our needs, recognizing that the resources of this world and even the people He brings into our lives are but instruments and vessels through which God meets our needs and that the skills, power, knowledge, and wisdom by which we might acquire our provision are provided and instilled in us by God, (Mt. 6:25-33)
to no longer fear what men can do to us, but rather fearing the God before whom we will have to one day give an account for how we lived our lives, (Mt. 10:28)
to no longer look to corruptible institutions within our society for direction and order in our lives but to God who, by His written Word has given us laws and precepts to be applied to our lives and which serve to produce and maintain an ordered life, and who, by His Holy Spirit which comes to dwell within us upon repentance, establishes in our lives a course and direction in our lives to pursue for His glory,
to no longer seek our own glory but the glory of God,
to no longer rally behind corruptible men, but instead behind the incorruptible God in Heaven bearing in mind that those men and women God raises up for our edification are but instruments and servants of His for that respective purpose to which He has called them,
to no longer seek to align ourselves with the things of darkness but only with the things of the light,
to no longer trust in the wisdom of the world but only on the wisdom and knowledge that comes from above, (Jas. 1:5) nor depend on corruptible earthly authorities to swiftly administer justice, but only in the power of God to deliver us from evil.

And it is this new inward transformation that reconciles us to our Creator (2 Cor. 5:18) from whom we had once been estranged and just as our souls are cleansed from sin and our spirits regenerated in Christ Jesus thereby liberating us from the eternal tormenting punishment that must come upon all who remain in their sins, so one day we look forward to the liberation of our bodies from death itself when our mortal and corruptible forms are transformed into that which is immortal and incorruptible and from that which is imperfect to that which is perfect (1 Cor. 15:51-55, 1 Thess. 4:13-18) and lastly, creation itself will be delivered from the curse placed upon it because of sin when it is made into a new and better world (Rev. 21-22) and liberated from the hand of our adversary Satan, who presently claims dominion, when he is given his final sentence and cast into an everlasting tormenting fire prepared for him and his followers (Mt. 25:41, Rev. 20:10-15) and in that new world which will be made, there will be no sin, no death, no decay, nor any curse, nor any evil, or violence, suffering, misery, grief, sorrow, mourning, pain, or hardship of any sort for all of these will pass away with this present world.  Instead, there will only be light, life, happiness, joy, contentment, peace, and rest before the Lord God Almighty.

But through various devices, Satan has continued and still continues to fight against the spreading of the good news of the Gospel in order to hold as many of the captives that he has taken in bondage and he does so by blinding them to their spiritual bondage with lies and in blinding them to their spiritual bondage, he also blinds them to their need for redemption and salvation and he tirelessly does all in his power to suppress anything that challenges the lies by which he has poisoned the minds and hearts of many and to hide and suppress anything that might lead souls to the knowledge of the truth by which we are delivered from eternal damnation and how better the forces of evil are at securing and expanding their borders than those who claim to be members of the Kingdom of Heaven and this is a thing that ought not be so when we who are in Christ and are supposed to be representatives of the Kingdom of God ought to be better able at securing and expanding the borders of Heaven than the forces of Satan are at securing and expanding theirs when we serve and follow a conquering King but we cower when should have we courageous for our Lord.
We remain silent when we should speak up in His name.
We place our faith in other things to meet our needs when we should be trusting in God to meet all of our needs.
We fear mankind more than God when we should be fearing God before whom all of mankind must give an account.
We value the temporal honors and favors of this present world when we should value the eternal honors and favor of God more than the temporal ones of this present life.
We get distracted by the cares and worries of this life when we should be keeping our focus on the next life.
We should apologize for allowing ourselves to be more consumed with storing up treasures on earth than treasures in Heaven.
We have been complacent when we should be vigilant in preserving the purity of the doctrine of our faith.
We have been lazy in our service to Christ when we should be more diligent.
We have been apathetic when we should retain in ourselves an ongoing zeal for the things of God.
We have harbored, tolerated, and have even celebrated within our ranks the things that dishonor and displease the God we claim to serve when we should hold they among us accountable for doing those things and teaching those things contrary to the teachings of the divinely inspired scriptures.
We trust in the wisdom and philosophies of this world when we should be trusting in the wisdom that comes from God.
We rely on the counsel of so-called experts when we should be seeking and trusting the counsel that comes from God.
We compromise our approach to the scriptures by which the Gospel is delivered to us when we should be relying upon the sufficiency of its teachings and placing our full faith and confidence therein.
And we are ill-equipped to give a firm and sound defense of our faith and to earnestly contend for it when so required of us when we should be made ready to do so on any given occasion.

But if we would steadfast in our faith, even in the face of opposition and even persecution,
If we would maintain an ongoing zeal for our Lord and His truth,
If we would but all have a heart for the Word of God,
If we would but learn to trust in the sufficiency of His Word and make that our only rule of faith and our only authority in all matters,
If we would be but diligent in going about the business of our God,
If we would be vigilant in preserving godliness and sound doctrine within our ranks and resolve to hold accountable those who persist in sinful living and spreading false doctrines, heresies, and anything to cast doubt upon and undermine faith,
If we would but treat the written Word as authoritative in all things upon which it speaks,
If we would value the praise of God above the praise of men and fear Him above men,
If we would prioritize the things of Heaven above the things of this world and not allow ourselves to be distracted by the cares and worries of this present life,
If we would trust God to provide for all of our needs instead of the things of this world,
If we would but rely on the wisdom and counsel that comes from God instead of what comes from this world,
If we would only place our hope in the world to come instead of the things of this present world,
If more of us would be ready to share the good news of Jesus when opportunity arises,
And if we would be ready and equipped to give a defense for our faith when it is challenged, then we would see the victory which comes from Christ made more manifested, His light would shine ever the brighter through us, and we would see the Kingdom of Heaven advancing all the more on the kingdom of darkness and taking back from the adversary of our souls ground that was stolen but if we are to be effective in advancing the Kingdom of Heaven, then we must first secure our own respective borders and set our own house in order that we may show ourselves worthy representatives and ambassadors on behalf of the name that is above all names.

And to any readers who have not already done so, now is the time to become a citizen of the Kingdom of God, now is the time to abandon the kingdom of darkness.  All it takes is a sincere prayer of repentance and submission to the authority of God in Heaven above:

"Lord Jesus I need you.

I realize that I am a sinner
who has fallen short of the glory of God
and that my goodness falls short
of your standard of Moral perfection.

Please forgive me of all of my sins.
Come into my heart and into my life
to be the Savior and Lord of my life.
Make me into the servant and follower
that you want me to be.
In your name Lord Jesus, I pray.

Amen."

Know that God is not concerned with the words that you use to call upon Him forgiveness, but with the attitude of your heart and if you have, with all sincerity, have asked Christ to forgive you of your sins, placing your trust in Him only for your salvation and in nothing else, then your sins are forgiven and your place in Heaven is certain.
