Update: After Some Disappointing Developments There Have Come Some Encouraging Developments

 




Previously I had written of some of some disappointing developments coming out of the Trump administration which went against their professed commitment to the pro-life cause by first making concessions to Planned [Murder]hood.

And even more disturbingly, that Trump encouraged GOP lawmakers to be a little flexible on the Hyde Amendment which prevents Medicaid dollars from going to Planned [Murder]hood.

I knew that pro-lifers would be tempted to sit out the mid-terms, and that doing so would not help matters and that the only thing that pro-lifers can do is continue attempting to elect the most pro-life candidates that they can find and if need be, refuse to file their tax returns but to sit out elections, even in light of these disappointing developments, would be the most stupidest thing that pro-lifers or anyone could ever do, reminding fellow pro-lifers that if we are in danger losing ground under a Trump administration and GOP controlled congress, we would lose even more ground if we were to sit out the mid-terms and future elections and allow the anti-Christ DEM party take control.  We either must side with the lesser of two evils, or we will end up with an even worse evil.
 
And it turns out that my admonishments have been vindicated by the latest and encouraging developments to come out of the Trump administration:
 
They have halted funding for research involving tissue from aborted babies.

And they have pulled foreign aid to organizations supporting abortions.

No such ground would have ever been gained under an anti-Christ DEM government and should be a reminder and an admonishment to all pro-lifers that it is very crucial that we elect and retain as many pro-life candidates as we can find and those who are as pro-life as can be found.  We cannot afford for apathy or complacency to set it or else the gains that have been made will be pulled out from underneath us.
 
And as I said before, we cannot rely on politics alone to put an end to abortion because the political landscape is the end result of what the culture is and if we want a more pro-life political landscape, we need to first have a culture that is more pro-life and that requires changing hearts and minds and the converting of souls and especially those of women; too many of whom see opposition to abortion and attempts to either limit or outright end the practice as a threat to their bodily autonomy and civil rights because they don’t see an unborn child as a human being and that in spite of ultra sounds showing otherwise because they have been made to believe that personhood applies only to those who have been born and the only way we will ever see an eventual lasting shift for the better in our politics is if there is a change in thinking for the better in the culture because at this point, the majority of the culture is still in favor of abortion to a certain extent; that doesn’t necessarily mean everyone believes in abortion on demand at any given stage of the pregnancy for any reason, but if we are ever to attain policy that is one hundred percent pro-life, then society itself is going to have to first be persuaded accordingly and that is going to take time and require the pro-life movement to address and overcome a number of barriers.
 
Until then, as mentioned earlier, the best that pro-lifers can do is do the following:
 
 
1.  Actively make a defensible case for the pro-life position and cause through the presentation of scientific evidence and facts supporting personhood for the unborn.
 
2.  Appeal to the consciences of those considering or favoring abortion
 
3.  Offer assistance and support to women facing an unprecedented, unplanned, or unwanted pregnancy including the option of putting their child up for adoption
 
4.  Support, campaign on behalf of, and attempt to elect to positions of power and authority, as many pro-life candidates as can be found or any candidates that are as pro-life can be found
 
5.  If necessary, refuse to file tax returns if their tax dollars are found to be funding abortion-related causes.
 
6.  Be in prayer constantly for a change of heart and mind in both the people and in our leadership.
 
 
Any and all of the above will be better than apathy but if you refuse to do anything, which also includes attempting to elect into power candidates that are as like-minded with the pro-life causes as you can possibly find, then that will only make you a part of the problem instead of the solution.
