A Hard Truth And An Even Harder Truth

“Because once you truly dismantle the COVID story, you are forced to confront a much harder truth.  That governments cannot be trusted.  That politicians cannot be trusted.  That doctors and public health institutions cannot be trusted.  That the media cannot be trusted. That universities, international bodies, and pharmaceutical companies cannot be trusted” [1]

Here is an even harder truth:

The reason why all of these things cannot be trusted is not because these institutions are inherently corrupt in and of themselves, it is those who operate these institutions who are inherently corrupt.  These institutions are only as corrupt as the people who oversee and operate them.  If you want these institutions to operate in an honorable, respectable, and beneficial manner, then you have to cleanse them of the people running these institutions but even that is just not enough.

You have to attack the inherent corruption at its very source which is the inward nature of man itself.  Otherwise, even if you successfully remove the filth from out of the aforementioned institutions, the same filth will return unless the inward nature of mankind is transformed into that which is less corrupt and that takes more than just political reform or even a cultural reform:

This is going to require a spiritual transformation and the only way for that to happen is when people recognize and admit that they are inherently corrupt and that is corrupted condition of their nature is what makes them not as good as they think they are.

That doesn’t mean that mankind does not have the capacity to do that which is good and right or that they are incapable of doing so.  That does not mean that mankind is not capable of being morally upright if they choose to be, but what it does mean is that is that their corrupted nature which is ever present within them will always hinder their efforts in pursuing goodness.

Even if the outward performance may appear flawless, that does not mean that the attitude of the heart is what it should be, that does not mean that those apparent acts of goodness are done with the right motives, and that does not necessarily mean that the nature of the thoughts are pure.

And it is due to the inherent corruption of our very nature that we all have within ourselves inclinations to do evil; it is just that some of us choose to give in to those inclinations more often than others, but what we all give into things that we ought not to from time to time and to some extent.  But those who take pleasure in doing evil and pursue self-serving and self-centered ambitions are going to inevitably give into the inclinations of evil more often and to a much greater extent than those who take pleasure in doing that which is good.

But if it were not for the fact that we have instilled within us a sense of moral agency, each and every one of us would give ourselves over to our inherently corrupt nature far more often than we do now.  Our moral agency takes the form of what we might call a conscience from which we receive some sense of right and wrong, however muddied our sense of it might be, but it is due to this understanding, as well as for the sake of conscience that we see the need to have in place moral laws and governing authorities in place to restrain evil behavior and the passions of an inherently corrupt condition and if it were not for the presence of inherent corruption, we would have no need of laws or governing powers to maintain order because law and order would already reign within us because we would be intrinsically good instead of evil, but such is not the case with humanity.

In order to understand how it is that we all fall short of the goodness that we aspire to attain (some more so than others) is if we are to take some to examine ourselves, not before the law of man, but before that law which does not come from man nor is any invention of man but which can only come from the Lord God who made the heavens and the earth, for as He is the Creator of Heaven and earth and the establisher of those laws of nature by which all things are held together and maintained, so He is also the source of those moral and spiritual laws by which we are universally governed.

No one likes to be lied to.
No one likes to be defrauded.
No one likes to be stolen from.
No one wants to share their intimate partner with another person.
And everyone will claim to agree that murder is wrong.

Granted that not every society will agree on what constitutes theft, murder, adultery, and there is dispute as whether or not there are any circumstances under which lying would ever be justified, but they will all basically agree that these things are wrong and it is this commonly and universally shared basic understanding of right and wrong by which we are held back from becoming worse than any beast but these restraints do not eliminate from us that inwardly corrupt nature that resides within each and every one of us.  They are just simply designed to keep in check that nature and to bring lawful order to the world but they can never inwardly transform us; they just control how we behave and a change in outward behavior is not enough to bring about the inward change that would be needed to bring a meaningful and lasting change in our culture and that is what needs to happen if we are to bring meaningful and lasting change to the institutions that have failed us.

I have previously written a number of blogposts explaining why it is never enough to simply attack the manifested corruption which is symptomatic but that the manifested corruption has to be attacked at its very source and its source is the inward corrupted nature within mankind and if that does not change, then neither will the nature of the institutions to which we have looked to meet our needs, for guidance and counsel, and to direct the course of our society itself and we will only just keep bailing out the filthy water only to have more filthy water pour in after it.

If we want to get rid of the filthy water and place clean water in its place, it is not enough to just bail out the filthy water, nor is it even enough to unplug the drain or to fix the breaches through which the filthy water is pouring in though these be very important measures.  We must remove the corrupt fountain and replace it with a pure fountain and that can only happen if we are willing for the corrupt fountains within our minds, hearts, and souls to be removed and replaced with fountains of purity and the only one who can instill within us fountains of purity is the incorruptible and pure God who had initially made all things, including mankind, pure and without corruption which was once the nature of the world when He had created it before it fell into the fallen and corrupt state by which this present world is defined.

When God had created the world, He had created it to be a place of purity and before evil had entered into the world, there had existed in the universe a perfect and uninterrupted harmony between God, man, and nature until one day a spirit of corruption entered into the world and through subtle deception caused the first man Adam and the first woman Eve, who was the wife of Adam, to do something that they had been forbidden by God to do, which was the eating of a fruit from a certain tree called the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, having been warned of God that in the day that they ate thereof they would surely die. (Gen. 2:16-17, 3:3)

But this spirit of corruption led them into that consequential transgression by way of false assurances and promises of better things that never came to pass (Gen. 3:4-5) but instead, a corruption entered into Adam and Eve that they had never anticipated; the first sign of it being a shame that came upon their nakedness (Gen. 3:7) and they were not spared the sentence of death as they had been falsely assured by that wicked spirit, but instead, the sentence of death was pronounced upon them just as they had been warned. (Gen. 3:19)

The corruption that entered into Adam and Eve is what the Bible calls sin and because of the sin that entered into them, the sentence of death came upon them and it is sin that the inherently corrupt condition of our nature is called and the consequences of the transgression that caused sin to enter into Adam and Eve which then led to their eventual deaths did not stop with just them because the sin which entered into them was also passed down to all of mankind for all of us are descendants of that first man and that first woman and because we are their descendants, we have also inherited the sin that entered into them (Rom. 5:12) and because of that sin which we have inherited, we all sin in some form or fashion and as a consequence we all die for as it is written, the wages of sin is death (Rom. 6:23) but sin is not merely confined to outward behavior or performance or even the words we speak, but it is rather the inherent inward corruption of our very nature defiling our thoughts, hardening and darkening our hearts, and corrupting our very motives which is why it is written that we are not defiled from that which comes from without, but that which comes from within (Mt. 15:11, 18-20) and which is why it is written that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Rom. 3:23) which demands of us nothing less than moral perfection and not just in our outward acts but also in our inward as well which is why it is impossible by our own efforts and our own goodness to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven, for sin taints, corrupts, defiles, twists, and distorts more than we can comprehend and the effects of sin are not merely confined to mankind, but all of creation is subjected to a curse because of sin which is why it is written that the entire creation groans and travails in pain to this day. (Rom. 8:19-22)

As for the corrupting spirit which led Adam and Eve to commit the fateful act that brought mankind and the entire world into the fallen condition that they are in, even he did not start out corrupt at first, for he had once been a covering cherub called Lucifer who had served at the throne of God but was turned into the source and originator of corruption by his own pride and conceit.  In his pride and conceit, Lucifer thought to make himself equal with God that he might share in the glory reserved to God alone which then ended with him and all who sided with him being cast from their places in Heaven (Is. 14:11-21, Ezek. 28:12-19).

It was in that day that Lucifer became better known as Satan or the Devil and it was he who is the spirit of corruption which came into our world in the form of a serpent and accomplished upon it what he could not accomplish in Heaven; successfully claiming lordship over the world by way of trickery and deceit which was another consequence of the transgression of Adam (Mt. 4:8-9, Lk. 4:6-7) and it is this claim of lordship that names Satan the prince of this present world (Jn. 12:31, 16:11) and it is under his shadowy reign that sin, death, decay, evil, corruption, injustice, suffering, and pain have abounded and often times before he destroys, he corrupts as his ways of destroying lives, civilizations, and souls are premeditated and calculated and often subtle and methodical.

Ever since Satan set himself at enmity against His Maker, there has been an age-long warfare between the Spirit of holiness and purity which is God and the profane spirit of corruption which is Satan and they wage against one another a warfare for the souls of every person upon the face of the earth daily; one side who wishes to reconcile mankind back to Himself and the other side who seeks to drag as many souls into eternal damnation as he possibly can and sides by men are taken; some choosing to side with God and others choosing to side with Satan.

But eventually, this age-long warfare will reach its final conclusion and the world will be liberated from the evil that is within it but that requires the elimination of all who take pleasure in evil and all who still remain in their sin but because God is not willing that any should be damned but that all would come to repentance, (2 Pet. 3:9) He offers redemption to all who are willing to receive it and submit to His authority and the redemption that He offers is in Jesus Christ who is our Lord and Savior and the only begotten Son of God, (Jn. 3:16) who came to us in the flesh, (Jn. 1:14) and being without any sin (2 Cor. 5:21) was made that perfect sacrifice (Heb. 7:26-27) that was needed to take away the sins of the world and because of His perfect goodness, He was able to offer Himself up on our behalf to satisfy the demanded penalty for all sin and granting mercy and grace through the shedding of His blood on the cross and after having died, rose again from the dead three days later that we might be justified in Him (Rom. 4:25) if we will but call upon His name so that we might be saved from what would otherwise be a terrifying everlasting punishment if we will but call upon His name (Rom. 10:9, 13) and believe in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead (Rom. 10:9) for it is by calling upon His name in sincere repentance that salvation is granted and our souls made clean from sin thereby liberating us from the threat of eternal damnation and with that cleansing comes a new spiritual transformation (2 Cor. 5:17) that causes us to no longer desire to follow after selfish and worldly pursuits but after those things that pertain to the Kingdom of Heaven,
to no longer take pleasure in those things that are evil and displeasing in the sight of the Lord, but in that which is good, right, and pleasing in His sight,
to no longer desire to walk in the lies of this present world, but only in the truth that comes from Christ Almighty who is the source of all truth, (Jn. 14:6)
no longer placing our hopes in the things of this present world, but looking forward to that new and better world to come, (Rev. 21-22)
to no longer rely on worldly resources, men, or even our own power, abilities, skills, and wisdom for our needs and provision but upon God who is able to meet all of our needs, recognizing that the resources of this world and even the people He brings into our lives are but instruments and vessels through which God meets our needs and that the skills, power, knowledge, and wisdom by which we might acquire our provision are provided and instilled in us by God, (Mt. 6:25-33)
to no longer fear what men can do to us, but rather fearing the God before whom we will have to one day give an account for how we lived our lives, (Mt. 10:28)
to no longer look to corruptible institutions within our society for direction and order in our lives but to God who, by His written Word has given us laws and precepts to be applied to our lives and which serve to produce and maintain an ordered life, and who, by His Holy Spirit which comes to dwell within us upon repentance, establishes in our lives a course and direction in our lives to pursue for His glory,
to no longer seek our own glory but the glory of God,
to no longer rally behind corruptible men, but instead behind the incorruptible God in Heaven bearing in mind that those men and women God raises up for our edification are but instruments and servants of His for that respective purpose to which He has called them,
to no longer seek to align ourselves with the things of darkness but only with the things of the light,
to no longer trust in the wisdom of the world but only on the wisdom and knowledge that comes from above, (Jas. 1:5) nor depend on corruptible earthly authorities to swiftly administer justice, but only in the power of God to deliver us from evil.

And it is this new inward transformation that reconciles us to our Creator (2 Cor. 5:18) from whom we had once been estranged and just as our souls are cleansed from sin and our spirits regenerated in Christ Jesus thereby liberating us from the eternal tormenting punishment that must come upon all who remain in their sins, so one day we look forward to the liberation of our bodies from death itself when our mortal and corruptible forms are transformed into that which is immortal and incorruptible and from that which is imperfect to that which is perfect (1 Cor. 15:51-55, 1 Thess. 4:13-18) and lastly, creation itself will be delivered from the curse placed upon it because of sin when it is made into a new and better world (Rev. 21-22) and liberated from the hand of our adversary Satan, who presently claims dominion, when he is given his final sentence and cast into an everlasting tormenting fire prepared for him and his followers (Mt. 25:41, Rev. 20:10-15) and in that new world which will be made, there will be no sin, no death, no decay, nor any curse, nor any evil, or violence, suffering, misery, grief, sorrow, mourning, pain, or hardship of any sort for all of these will pass away with this present world.  Instead, there will only be light, life, happiness, joy, contentment, peace, and rest before the Lord God Almighty.

If you have not done so already and sense the call to repentance and transformation, then I urge you reader to call upon the name of the Lord Jesus for the forgiveness of sins today.  It is but a simple sincere heartfelt prayer of repentance away:

"Lord Jesus I need you.

I realize that I am a sinner
who has fallen short of the glory of God
and that my goodness falls short
of your standard of Moral perfection.

Please forgive me of all of my sins.
Come into my heart and into my life
to be the Savior and Lord of my life.
Make me into the servant and follower
that you want me to be.
In your name Lord Jesus, I pray.

Amen."

Know that God is not concerned with the words that you use to call upon Him forgiveness, but with the attitude of your heart and if you have, with all sincerity, have asked Christ to forgive you of your sins, placing your trust in Him only for your salvation and in nothing else, then your sins are forgiven and your place in Heaven is certain.
