Origins Of Writing Pushed Further Back In Time

For those who may not believe in the authority of scripture and much less the Genesis account of origins, they always seem amazed when a discovery is made that shows mankind, even in his most primitive stage, to be more advanced than was once thought and according to an item by Live Science, archaeological discoveries have revealed that Paleolithic peoples, regarded by evolutionists as being primitive stone-age people, may have been more advanced than previously thought and may have even possessed a system of writing:

When modern humans (Homo sapiens) first arrived in Europe around 55,000 years ago, they brought with them a sophisticated tool culture that included projectile points and drilling implements. Humans began decorating cave walls with geometric shapes, hand stencils and representations of animals, and they adorned their tools and sculptures with geometric signs whose meaning has baffled archaeologists for decades.

In a study published Feb. 23 in the journal PNAS, linguist Christian Bentz of Saarland University in Germany and archaeologist Ewa Dutkiewicz of the Museum of Prehistory and Early History in Berlin statistically analyzed more than 3,000 mysterious markings on 260 ancient objects and determined that they constitute "sign sequences" that encoded Paleolithic people's thoughts.

The researchers cataloged intentional symbols — lines, points, crosses, stars, grids and zigzags — carved into a variety of tools and figurines, most of which were discovered in previous archaeological excavations in cave sites in the Swabian Jura, a mountain range in southern Germany. Then, they used computational techniques to look at the statistical properties of the signs, discovering that the Paleolithic sequences were comparable to proto-cuneiform in their potential to encode information. [1]

But not all necessarily believe that the strange symbols have anything to do with any writing system.  Linguist Christian Bentz of Saarland University in Germany stated:

Our analyses demonstrate that these sign sequences have nothing to do with the writing systems of today…The signs on the archaeological objects are frequently repeated – cross, cross, cross, line, line, line. This type of repetition is not a feature found in spoken language. [2]

Guess Bentz has never heard of hieroglyphics, which is regarded as an ancient writing system by the way and one of the earliest forms of writing known.  He also seems to forget that there are certain writing systems and even languages that used to exist but no longer do but typically, evolutionists will attempt to downplay the existence of these kinds of discoveries.

While granted that the Bible itself does not tell us at one point in man’s history the ability to write originated, I would say that writing and craftsmanship have been around since mankind himself or should I say, almost since mankind himself as that is what we read in the book of Genesis chapters 4 and 5 and while the origins of reading and writing may not be known, scripture does tell us of the origins of a lot of other things such as the origins of currency,
(Gen. 2:11-12)
the origins of marriage, why it was instituted, and for what it was intended, (Gen. 2:18-25)
the origins of clothing and why that was instituted, (Gen. 3:21)
the origins of agriculture, (Gen. 4:1-2)
the origins of cities, (Gen. 4:17)
the origins of animal husbandry, (Gen. 4:20)
of music, (Gen. 4:21)
of metallurgy, (Gen. 4:22 )
of the origin of nations, (Gen. 10-11)
and even of the origins of the first known feudal system, (Gen. 41:56, 47:14-26)
and most importantly of all, it tells us of the origin of all life itself, (Gen. 1-2)
the origins of evil, (Gen. 3:3-4-5, Is. 14:11-21, Ezek. 28:12-19)
why there is death and suffering in the world, (Gen. 3, Rom. 5:12, 6:23, 8:19-22, 1 Cor.  15:21)
and how it will all be done away with, (Rev. 19-22)
and what we must do to be ready for the day in which the evil, death, and suffering that we see in the world will be done away with because those who are not ready for that day and are unfit for the new and better world to come, will not be allowed in but will be cast into eternal damnation and for those who are willing to receive it, the Lord God Almighty has provided a means by which we can be made ready for the Kingdom of Heaven by the cleansing and regeneration of the soul which is born inherently corrupt and estranged from the Creator.

But in order understand why this is, we have to understand what kind of a world that God initially created and how it fell from that which He intended it to be into the presently imperfect, corrupt, and dying state that it is in presently for when we understand what it is that caused the world to fall into a state that is different and less than what God intended it to be, then we will understand what it is that has made us inherently and inwardly corrupt by nature and why the corrupted condition of our nature causes separation and estrangement between God and man and what the implications are of that, and when we come to understand that, we will then see why it is that we are fallen beings who are in need of redemption and when we see our need for redemption and why we are in need of it, it is only then that we will see our need to answer the call to repentance.

Scripture states that when God had created the world that He had created everything, including man to be good (Gen. 1) which means there was nothing in the world that was evil in the sight of God nor was there anything to bring pain, grief, or suffering of any sort, but that all changed when the first man Adam whom God had made and the first woman Eve, being Adam’s wife, did something of astronomical consequence; a fateful act which they were warned of God not to do.

And that fateful act which Adam and Eve had committed was the eating of a fruit from a certain tree called the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, having been warned of God that in the day that they ate thereof, they would surely die (Gen. 2:16-17, 3:3) and when they disobeyed that command, this is what happened:

The sentence of death, to which they eventually succumbed was pronounced upon them (Gen. 3:19) but the consequences of that one act of transgression did not stop with Adam and Eve as they were extended to the rest of creation; first to mankind who descends from Adam and Eve and then to all of creation; the consequences being the sin which entered into Adam and Eve after eating of that forbidden fruit being passed down to the rest of mankind and because we are descended from them, we inherit the very sin that entered into them (Rom. 5:12) and just as the sin that entered into Adam and Eve brought about their deaths, so the sin that we inherit within ourselves brings about our eventual deaths. (Rom. 6:23)

But what we need to understand about sin is that it is not merely defined by actions or even ill-spoken words, but by the inherently corrupt nature that resides within us which is why it is written that we are not defiled by that which is from without but by that which is from within (Mt. 15:11, 18-20) and it is due to that inward defilement that we all sin and have fallen short of the glory of God (Rom. 3:23) because sin influences not just our actions or words, but also our thoughts, motives, and the attitudes of the heart and it is sin within us that causes an estrangement and separation from our Maker that would otherwise not exist and it is sin that has caused the disruption of the once perfect harmony that had existed between God, man, and nature and which disrupted the once perfect union and fellowship between God and man which has serious ramifications for not only the course of our lives but also for eternity itself.

If sin causes separation and estrangement between mankind and his Creator, then it is also what prevents us from being able to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven because that which is sinful can have no place with that which is without sin because if Heaven permitted sin into its realm, then it would become just as defiled as the earth upon which, due to sin, a curse has come which has subjugate the entire creation to the pain, suffering, and misery that we see and experience today which is why it is written that the entire creation groans and travails in pain to this day (Rom. 8:19-22) and what has happened on the earth because of sin cannot be permitted into Heaven or else Heaven would no longer be Heaven; it would not be the place of uninterrupted joy, peace, harmony, contentment, and happiness that it is now and for those who remain in their sin and persist in those things that are evil in the sight of God, there can be nothing to look forward to except eternal separation from God in which there is nothing but unrelenting torment in the fires and darkness of Hell and it is only because of the love the God has for humanity that He is not willing that any should perish but that all would come to repentance (2 Pet. 3:9) and in His love for humanity, has mercifully and graciously offered and provided redemption in Christ Jesus, His only begotten Son, (Jn. 3:16) who came to us in the flesh, (Jn. 1:14) and being without any sin (2 Cor. 5:21) was made that perfect sacrifice (Heb. 7:26-27) that was needed to take away the sins of the world and because of His perfect goodness, He was able to offer Himself up on our behalf to satisfy the demanded penalty for all sin and granting mercy and grace through the shedding of His blood on the cross and after having died, rose again from the dead three days later that we might be justified in Him (Rom. 4:25) if we will but call upon His name so that we might be saved from what would otherwise be a terrifying everlasting punishment if we will but call upon His name (Rom. 10:9, 13) and believe in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead (Rom. 10:9)

Sin, death, and the curse began with Adam.
Redemption begins in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior and it begins through the cleansing of the soul by those who place their trust in Him for their salvation and who, in sincere repentance, call upon His name for the forgiveness of sins and with that forgiveness comes the transformation and regeneration of the soul (2 Cor. 5:17) and a reconciling to God the father. (2 Cor. 5:18)
Next, comes the eventual liberation of our bodies from death. (1 Cor. 15:51-55, 1 Thess. 4:13-18
And finally comes the liberation of the entire creation itself from the curse that came upon it by way of sin when it is finally created anew and into a new and better world in which there will be no death, no suffering, no sin, and no evil, but only peace, joy, happiness, and contentment before the Lord God Almighty just as it was intended in the beginning. (Rev. 21-22)

If you reader find yourself agreeing that things in this present world are not as they should be and long for a new and better one, then I urge you, if you have not done so already to call upon the name of the Lord Jesus for the forgiveness of sins.  It is but a simple sincere prayer of repentance away:

"Lord Jesus I need you.

I realize that I am a sinner
who has fallen short of the glory of God
and that my goodness falls short
of your standard of Moral perfection.

Please forgive me of all of my sins.
Come into my heart and into my life
to be the Savior and Lord of my life.
Make me into the servant and follower
that you want me to be.
In your name Lord Jesus, I pray.

Amen."

Know that God is not concerned with the words that you use to call upon Him forgiveness, but with the attitude of your heart and if you have, with all sincerity, have asked Christ to forgive you of your sins, placing your trust in Him only for your salvation and in nothing else, then your sins are forgiven and your place in Heaven is certain.
