Contender's Edge 7th Year Anniversary
I
know this post has come later than I would have liked (been very busy) but the
month of July marks the 7 years since I had officially launched Contender’s
Edge. So far, I have received an all
time of 92,811 views for the blog, which is up from 31, 489; that is an
increase of 61, 320 views from last year but I must confess that I have made
some changes that may affect the viewership in that I have expanded the
Contender’s Edge blog to other platforms such as Substack and X.
On
GAB, I currently have 141 followers; that is down from 155 last year; a loss of
14 followers.
On
Spreely, I have 15 followers down from 16 of last year.

Talk and WeGo.Social no longer appear to be operational which costed me a total
of 5 followers
But
on other platforms I have actually seen an increase in followers.

Despite
the losses I suffered, the total number of followers stands at 1,676 up from
1,337; an increase of 339 followers.
Contender’s Edge continues to grow steadily in followers and viewership.
I
would love to be able to post content and blogpost much more consistently than
I have been able to and I have always been looking for ways to make that happen
in a timely and efficient matter. If I
could, I would be publishing a blogpost every day of the week (with the
possible exceptions of weekends and holidays) but that has not always been
possible and in order for me to be able to do that, I would have to be
receiving in donations a consistent 4,000 dollars a month (48,000 a year) and
so far, I have only received a 50 dollar donation and that was in last
December.
If
I were to receive at least 4,000 dollars a month on as consistent of a basis as
possible, I could then be freed up to be a full-time writer and blogger and not
to mention, I might be able to get better equipment and be able to buy more
external hard drives on which I can store useful research material and back-up
printers and computers in case the printer and computer that I am currently
using should crap out on me and if my computer craps out on me, then it could
be days, if not weeks, before I am able to get another one and I have had to
twice replace computers over the years and each time, it was days before I
could get fully back on line.
And
for those interested in making financial contributions to Contender’s Edge I
have provided a number of ways to do so, including becoming a paid subscriber
to my Substack page.
But
even if no one does donate to the blog on a consistent and regular basis, that
is not going to stop me from posting and publishing content altogether because
it will continue to be my passion because Contender’s Edge has never been about
money for me but was established in hopes that God might be honored and
glorified in it and through it, as is the professed hope of any other ministry
in existence, but without donations, I will not be able to be post content as
consistently as I otherwise would due to having to earn wages through
employment and please do not misunderstand me when I say that; I am grateful
that I have a job that enables me to pay the bills and part of my paycheck does
go to paying for internet service that makes Contender’s Edge possible but it
just means that I will not have the time to write and post content as often as
I would like but the reality is, is that whether or not I receive consistent
financial support will make a difference as to what levels Contender’s Edge
might reach.
And
if anyone has any suggestions as to how Contender’s Edge can effectively
receive revenue or what Contender’s Edge can do to make itself a more effective
outlet, I will gladly consider any ideas offered.
The
purpose of Contender's Edge is to proclaim the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ
as written in scripture; not a social gospel, not a "blab it grab it
gospel", nor a Charismatic gospel, or any other gospel except that of our
Lord Jesus Christ as preached by His Apostles and written down in the
scriptures; nothing more, nothing less.
Contender's
Edge also endeavors to report news that is either not being fully covered in
the mainstream media or not being covered at all, strives to provide
instruction in the scriptures and strengthen confidence in the authority and
sufficiency of therein, and bring awareness to false doctrines, heresies, and
unbiblical trends taking place within the body of Christ, and to bring
encouragement and edification to any fellow saints who happen to come across
this site.
And
for as long as God wills for it, Contender’s Edge will continue being a voice
for the Gospel and for the authority of scripture.
The
posts that gained the most attention over the past year are four posts that
were a part of series of posts that I had posted and published that were a
series of prayers lifted up on the behalf of our nation from each of our states
and finally from Washington D.C. itself; one prayer from one state for fifty
days. It was a fifty-day prayer event
that was put on by an affiliate of the Billy Graham Evangelic Association that
began on May 15 of this year and concluded on July 4th .

seemed to be the posts that stood out to most people out of all the posts from
that series that I had posted.

34 from North Dakota, was a prayer for a Holy Spirit-driven conviction to bring
the nation back to repentance that we might be delivered from all the evils
that are plaguing us, but then again, that was the prayer of basically each
representative Pastor from each state in our nation.

society but for that revival to begin within the Church which makes sense
because if there is to be a Great Awakening to influence and impact our culture
for the better, then it must begin with a reformation within the body of Christ

And
the kind of reformation within the body of Christ that we need is a return to
the uncompromised preaching of the Gospel that preaches that we are all sinners
estranged from our Creator, why we are sinners, why we are all in need of
redemption, the consequences that we face if we remain in our sin, why it was
necessary for Jesus to die for our sins and be raised from the dead, and why it
is that He alone is the only way to salvation.
We
need a reformation that returns us to confidence in the authority of scripture
and the sufficiency thereof,
that
returns us to a diligent study of the scriptures,
that
aims to return us to doctrinal purity and to reject all that is contrary to the
teaching of scripture, to reject anything that undermines confidence in the
authority thereof, and to reject anything that erodes trust in the sufficiency
thereof,
which
returns the Church to instruction in godly living,
which
brings back accountability into the body of Christ for the conduct and behavior
of its members and for what is taught and preached,
which
makes us unapologetic in our faith and makes us firm and steadfast in our
faith,
which
makes us steadfast and courageous in the face of evil and unafraid to speak out
against the works of darkness,
which
leads us back to trusting in the wisdom and counsel that comes from God instead
of the philosophies of this present world,
which
restores in us a zeal and devotion to our God,
which
makes us diligent in our service to Him,
which
makes us vigilant in the preservation of biblical doctrine and godliness in the
Church,
And
it begins with a sincere apology before God Almighty for not representing Him
to the world as well as we should be:
We
should be apologizing for our cowardice when we should have been courageous
We
should apologize for remaining silent when we should have spoken up
We
should apologize for our lack of faith when we should have trusted God to meet
all of our needs.
We
should apologize for fearing man more than God before whom all men will be
judged.
We
should apologize for valuing the temporal honors and favors of this present
world when we should have valued the eternal honors and favor of God more than
the temporal ones of this present life.
We
should apologize for being distracted by the cares and worries of this life
when we should have been keeping our focus on the next life.
We
should apologize for allowing ourselves to be more consumed with storing up
treasures on earth than treasures in Heaven.
We
should apologize for being complacent when we should have been vigilant in
preserving the purity of the doctrine of our faith.
We
should apologize for being lazy in our service to Christ when we should have
been more diligent.
We
should apologize for being apathetic when we should have retained in ourselves
an ongoing zeal for the things of God.
We
should apologize for harboring, tolerating, and even celebrating within our
ranks the things that dishonor and displease the God we claim to serve when we
should have held they among us accountable for doing those things and teaching
those things contrary to the teachings of the divinely inspired scriptures.
We
should apologize for trusting in the wisdom and philosophies of this world
rather than in the wisdom that comes from God.
We
should apologize for relying on the counsel of so-called experts instead of the
counsel that comes from God.
We
should apologize for compromising our approach to the scriptures by which the
Gospel is delivered to us when we should have relied upon the sufficiency of
its teachings and placed our full faith therein.
When
we see that kind of a reformation within the body of Christ, then perhaps we
will see the Great Awakening we have so hoped and prayed for.
As
I read each prayer from each Pastor from each of our fifty states, I noticed
that not only was each prayer a prayer for a return to God, but most of the
prayers lifted up also were prayers for things specific that we should all want
to see transpire and if you have not done so already, I would encourage you to
read each prayer as each one shows us what things we can all pray for and
should be routinely lifting up in prayer.

upon which our nation was founded and to recognize that in order to make
America great again, we have to Make America Godly Again; no coincidence that
MAGA should stand for both.

If
you don’t know what to pray for on behalf of our nation, then each of these
prayers should give us some insight as to what to pray for. What each of these featured Pastors prayed
for during that fifty day prayer event are what we ourselves can pray for on
behalf of our nation every day and as often as it is possible.
Donald Trump cannot save America.

A
strong economy will not save America as economic fortunes can change for the
worse.
A
strong military and law enforcement apparatus will not save America as these
things can be used against us.
Academia
will not save America, as those institutions can be poison for the mind and
heart.
The
media will not save America as they can propagate lies.
The
entertainment industry will not save America because it can serve as an
instrument for the affirming and celebration of that which is evil, perverse, and
depraved.
Not
even the family can save America as they can be subject to dysfunction and division
themselves.
Even
the Church cannot save America as can be led astray from its purpose.
There
is only one thing that can save America and that is the Lord Jesus Christ if we
only but call upon His name to do so in a sincere repentance and a turning away
from all that is displeasing in His sight and in committing ourselves to doing
that which is good and pleasing in His eyes.
It is only a return to the very founding principles upon which this
nation was built of which God is the source that America will ever be restored
to true greatness again, but that doesn’t begin with a prolific writer, an
internet influencer, a dynamic political figure or preacher, or a great genius.
It
begins with each person. It begins with
you and me. And it begins with a
transformation and not a transformation from without, but a transformation from
within because we are all born in need of an inward transformation because we
are all born fallen beings estranged from our Creator and the reason why we are
born fallen beings is because our fallen nature is an inherited one and it was
a fallen nature that entered into the first man Adam and the first woman Eve
when they had committed a fateful act that changed the world from what God had
intended it to be into the world that we presently know which is not what He initially
created it to be.
When
God had first created the universe and everything in it, He had created it all
to be a place of goodness and life; the death, sin, evil, suffering, pain,
grief, and sorrow that abounds in this present world and which we witness and
experience did not exist in it until the day that fateful and consequential act
of disobedience was committed by the first man Adam and the first woman Eve
whom God had made and from whom all of mankind descend and that was the eating
of a fruit from a certain called the tree of the knowledge of good and evil;
they were free to eat of any of the plants and of the fruit bearing trees that
were given to them for food, but the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of
good and evil they were forbidden to eat, having been warned of God that in the
day that they ate thereof, they would surely die. (Gen. 2:16-17, 3:3)
But
when they disobeyed the prohibition and ate of that forbidden fruit, it was in
that day that sin entered into them and it is by way of sin that death entered
into the world, beginning with Adam and Eve upon the sentence of death first
fell and to which they eventually succumbed, (Gen. 3:19) but the sentence of
death did not stop there because the sin that entered into Adam and Eve was
then inherited by the rest of mankind since it is from Adam and Eve from whom
we all descend (Rom. 5:12) and it is for this reason that we possess in
ourselves that inherited inwardly corrupt nature that the Bible calls sin which
is not defined by just our actions or even by what we say, but it is the inward
condition of our very nature that also influences our very thoughts, motives,
and attitudes which then in turn influence what we say and do which is why it
is written that we are not defiled by what is from without, but what is from
within (Mt. 15:11, 18-20) and it is this very inward defilement that prevents
us from attaining moral perfection which is required of us to be reconciled to
our Maker from whom sin estranges us and not only has sin brought about our
eventual deaths and puts a separation between ourselves and God, but it also is
the reason for the suffering, misery, grief, destruction, and evil that is
presently witnessed and experienced in this world as it is currently known.

But
the worst part of about sin is that it estranges us from our Creator who is the
very source of life itself which is why there are very serious implications for
remaining estranged and separated from our Maker because that which is sinless
cannot allow that which is sinful to enter into a Kingdom that is without sin
lest the Kingdom of Heaven become defiled just as the earth has been defiled
and for those who should remain in their sins, there is nothing for them to
look forward to except an eternity of unrelenting torment in the darkness and
fires of Hell because that is the place where all sin and all evil are destined
for and a day is coming when all sin must be eliminated from creation due to
all of the evil and suffering that came into the world because of it and that
requires the elimination of all who remain in their sins but because God is a
God of love, mercy, goodness, and life, He takes no pleasure in destruction,
punishment, or judgment and that is why He calls daily to repentance as many as
are willing to heed the call that they may be saved from the wrath to come and
He has provided escape from eternal condemnation through Jesus Christ our Lord
His only begotten Son, (Jn. 3:16) who came to us in the flesh, (Jn. 1:14) and
being without any sin (2 Cor. 5:21) was made that perfect sacrifice (Heb.
7:26-27) that was needed to take away the sins of the world and because of His
perfect goodness, He was able to offer Himself up on our behalf to satisfy the
demanded penalty for all sin and granting mercy and grace through the shedding
of His blood on the cross and after having died, rose again from the dead three
days later that we might be justified in Him (Rom. 4:25) if we will but call
upon His name so that we might be saved from what would otherwise be a
terrifying everlasting punishment if we will but call upon His name (Rom. 10:9,
13) and believe in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead (Rom. 10:9) for
it is by calling upon His name in sincere repentance that salvation is granted
and our souls made clean from sin thereby liberating us from the threat of
eternal damnation and with that cleansing comes a new spiritual transformation
(2 Cor. 5:17) that causes us to no longer desire to follow after selfish and
worldly pursuits but after those things that pertain to the Kingdom of Heaven,
to
no longer take pleasure in those things that are evil and displeasing in the
sight of the Lord, but in that which is good, right, and pleasing in His sight,
to
no longer desire to walk in the lies of this present world, but only in the
truth that comes from Christ Almighty who is the source of all truth, (Jn.
14:6)
no
longer placing our hopes in the things of this present world, but looking
forward to that new and better world to come, (Rev. 21-22)
to
no longer rely on worldly resources, men, or even our own power, abilities,
skills, and wisdom for our needs and provision but upon God who is able to meet
all of our needs, recognizing that the resources of this world and even the
people He brings into our lives are but instruments and vessels through which
God meets our needs and that the skills, power, knowledge, and wisdom by which
we might acquire our provision are provided and instilled in us by God, (Mt.
6:25-33)
to
no longer fear what men can do to us, but rather fearing the God before whom we
will have to one day give an account for how we lived our lives, (Mt. 10:28)
to
no longer look to corruptible institutions within our society for direction and
order in our lives but to God who, by His written Word has given us laws and
precepts to be applied to our lives and which serve to produce and maintain an
ordered life, and who, by His Holy Spirit which comes to dwell within us upon
repentance, establishes in our lives a course and direction in our lives to
pursue for His glory,
to
no longer seek our own glory but the glory of God,
to
no longer rally behind corruptible men, but instead behind the incorruptible
God in Heaven bearing in mind that those men and women God raises up for our
edification are but instruments and servants of His for that respective purpose
to which He has called them,
to
no longer seek to align ourselves with the things of darkness but only with the
things of the light,
to
no longer trust in the wisdom of the world but only on the wisdom and knowledge
that comes from above, (Jas. 1:5) nor depend on corruptible earthly authorities
to swiftly administer justice, but only in the power of God to deliver us from
evil.
And
it is this new inward transformation that reconciles us to our Creator (2 Cor.
5:18) from whom we had once been estranged and just as our souls are cleansed
from sin and our spirits regenerated in Christ Jesus thereby liberating us from
the eternal tormenting punishment that must come upon all who remain in their
sins, so one day we look forward to the liberation of our bodies from death
itself when our mortal and corruptible forms are transformed into that which is
immortal and incorruptible and from that which is imperfect to that which is
perfect (1 Cor. 15:51-55, 1 Thess. 4:13-18) and lastly, creation itself will be
delivered from the curse placed upon it because of sin when it is made into a
new and better world (Rev. 21-22) and in that new world which will be made,
there will be no sin, no death, no decay, nor any curse, nor any evil, or
violence, suffering, misery, grief, sorrow, mourning, pain, or hardship of any
sort for all of these will pass away with this present world. Instead, there will only be light, life,
happiness, joy, contentment, peace, and rest before the Lord God Almighty.
I
urge you reader today, that if you have not already done so already and feel
the call to repentance, call upon the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
today for the forgiveness of sins. Do
not go into eternity in your sins. It is
just a sincere prayer of repentance away:
"Lord
Jesus I need you.
I
realize that I am a sinner
who
has fallen short of the glory of God
and
that my goodness falls short
of
your standard of Moral perfection.
Please
forgive me of all of my sins.
Come
into my heart and into my life
to
be the Savior and Lord of my life.
Make
me into the servant and follower
that
you want me to be.
In
your name Lord Jesus, I pray.
Amen."
Know
that God is not concerned with the words that you use to call upon Him
forgiveness, but with the attitude of your heart and if you have, with all
sincerity, have asked Christ to forgive you of your sins, placing your trust in
Him only for your salvation and in nothing else, then your sins are forgiven
and your place in Heaven is certain.
