Contender’s Edge, through July 4^th will be sharing each day a prayer, on behalf of our nation, from a representative from each of our fifty states.  The event began on May 15^th and will end July 4^th.

One Prayer From Each State For Our Nation For Fifty Days: Day 37

Brett Meador, Pastor of Athey Creek Church in West Linn, Oregon:

 
 
 
“Hello, I’m Pastor Brett Meador from Portland, Oregon. Jeremiah 29:7 declares this: ‘Seek the peace of the city and pray unto the Lord for it. For in the peace thereof shall you have peace.’ Let’s pray together.
 
Lord, we do ask that request, Lord, that You would cause there to be a peace that would pass understanding. Lord, we pray for a godly peace that would come to America. We pray not just for the absence of conflict, but for the presence of Your righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
 
Lord, we pray as Jesus taught us to pray, ‘Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.’ And until we have that time with You in Heaven, we pray that in the meantime, that our lights would shine. May Your church flourish.
 
I pray that the pulpits around America would just declare with clarity the good news of the Gospel, and that souls would be saved, lives would be changed.
 
Lord, we pray for this country and ask that You’d raise up good leaders who would walk in that godly direction.
 
Protect, Lord, the families, the businesses, the people that are calling out Your Name. May You put Your hedge of protection around them. So we pray these prayers, knowing that You’re able to do exceeding, abundantly above all that we’d ask for or even think.
 
So we ask this now in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen. Amen.
