One Prayer From Each State For Our Nation For Fifty Days: Day 35

 


Contender’s Edge, through July 4^th will be sharing each day a prayer, on behalf of our nation, from a representative from each of our fifty states.  The event began on May 15^th and will end July 4^th.

One Prayer From Each State For Our Nation For Fifty Days: Day 35
 
 
Alistair Begg, Pastor of Parkside Church in Chagrin Falls, Ohio:

 
 
“My name is Alistair Begg, and it’s my privilege to pray today for the state of Ohio. Let us pray.
 
Our gracious God, we thank You for the privilege of coming to You today. We thank You that our state is the only one that has the motto taken directly from Your Word, declaring, ‘With God, All Things Are Possible.’
 
Yours, O Lord, is the majesty, the power, the glory, and the dominion, because all things come from You.
 
Please forgive us for having big thoughts about ourselves and small thoughts of You, and grant that as we look around our state today, those in our courts may be granted wisdom to govern with impartiality. That our schools may teach according to Your Word. That our politicians may be humble before You and look to You for everything.
 
Remind us that our lives are brief, and help us to hear the invitation of Jesus to come to Him, bow to Him, learn from Him, and find rest in Him, and in Him alone.
 
And in that Name of Jesus we pray, amen.”
