One Prayer From Each State For Our Nation For Fifty Days: Day 24

 


Contender’s Edge, through July 4^th will be sharing each day a prayer, on behalf of our nation, from a representative from each of our fifty states.  The event began on May 15^th and will end July 4^th.

One Prayer From Each State For Our Nation For Fifty Days: Day 24
 
 
James Beal, Pastor of Little Rock Missionary Baptist Church in Gulfport, Mississippi:
 
 
 
“I greet you today from the great state of Mississippi, known as The Hospitality State. My name is James Beal, pastor of the Little Rock Missionary Baptist Church, here in Gulfport, Mississippi. As we prepare to celebrate 250 years as a nation, I ask each and every one of you to pray with me, that God will continue to bless this nation. Let us pray.
 
Father God, we come, Lord, with thanksgiving in our heart. Thank You, dear Heavenly Father, for blessing us with all Your favor throughout these first 250 years. And, Heavenly Father, we know that this nation was built on Biblical principles. So we are so thankful for our forefathers, who understood, Lord, the foundation had to be a foundation on God. And we thank them for that, Heavenly Father.
 
Father God, we pray right now in the mighty Name of Jesus, that You will give divine guidance to our president, to all our leaders, to our pastors. The decisions that we make on behalf of Your people, Lord, would be for the betterment of all people.
 
And, Lord, we know as a nation, we have strayed away from Your commandments, Your laws. And, Lord, we know, Lord, that sin does not allow us to be prosperous. So we pray, Lord, forgive us of our sins, and, Lord, we pray that You’ll just heal our land. Remove the hate. Remove the division. Remove the strife. And, Lord, replace it with love, with peace, with unity.
 
Psalm 133:1 says—oh, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell together in unity. And, Lord, we pray, Lord, for that unity as a whole today, that You will continue to bless us. Even Jesus prayed that the disciples might be one. And, Lord, we pray today, Lord, that we would continue to, as Christians, to show love and respect for one another. And pray, Lord, that You would just continue to bless this nation—if Jesus delay His coming—for another 250 years.
 
We ask these prayers in Your precious Son, Jesus’, Name we pray, amen.”
