One Prayer From Each State For Our Nation For Fifty Days: Day 40

 


Contender’s Edge, through July 4^th will be sharing each day a prayer, on behalf of our nation, from a representative from each of our fifty states.  The event began on May 15^th and will end July 4^th.

One Prayer From Each State For Our Nation For Fifty Days: Day 40
 
 
D.J. Horton, Pastor of Church at the Mill in Moore, South Carolina:
 
 
 
“Hi, I’m D.J. Horton, Pastor of Church at The Mill here in Spartanburg, South Carolina. It’s my honor, during this emphasis on prayer, to represent the state of South Carolina. Join me in prayer today.
 
Heavenly Father, thank You for this opportunity to call upon Your Name. I pray that we as a people, we as a nation, and specifically we as Your people, would be more diligent in our desires to see You not only bless our nation, but raise up the next generation of leaders, of preachers, of teachers, of laymen, and laywomen who care about You and who are passionate about the Gospel.
 
We know Your Word is clear that if we reach out to You and draw near to You, You promise to draw near to us. And it is our prayer today that our country would experience a great revival, a revival that turns people away from sin and back to a right relationship with You, which is only available through Your precious Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
 
Christ, we need You today. We pray for Your power upon our leaders, upon our churches. We pray for Your protection over our political leaders and our military leaders. We pray for Your wisdom and Your discernment. And we pray that as Christians, we would share the Gospel. Our greatest need is You, and You meet all of our needs.
 
So today and every day during this time of prayer emphasis, lead us to Your throne. Help us to bow the knee, to humble our hearts, and to give us a spirit of excitement and revival, encouragement and renewal.
 
And we pray this prayer in the mighty Name of Jesus, our Savior and our Lord. Amen.”
