One Prayer From Each State For Our Nation For Fifty Days: Day 43

 


Contender’s Edge, through July 4^th will be sharing each day a prayer, on behalf of our nation, from a representative from each of our fifty states.  The event began on May 15^th and will end July 4^th.

One Prayer From Each State For Our Nation For Fifty Days: Day 43
 
 
Jack Graham, Pastor of Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas:
 
 
 
“Hello everyone. I’m Jack Graham, pastor of Prestonwood Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas, representing the great state of Texas, the Lone Star State. And we are so very grateful to be able to pray together across our nation, state by state, as we sanctify ourselves before the Lord. This is an opportunity for us to celebrate America, and we do celebrate, and we give thanks to God for the blessings of our Lord upon our nation these 250 years.
 
And as we anticipate this celebration, it’s also a time of sanctification. In other words, consecration, that we would consecrate our lives before the Lord. And in Joshua chapter three, in verse five, the Scripture says, sanctify yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders, miracles among you.
 
And we’re praying for the miracle-working hand of God to move in our nation as we celebrate and as we consecrate our lives to the Lord. So we do this in prayer. So let me invite you to bow with me in prayer right now, and let’s pray to the God of Heaven as we dedicate and rededicate our lives to Him.
 
Lord, how thankful we are for the opportunity always to pray. You have said in Your Word that we are to ask and seek and to knock, and You will answer our prayers. And with gratitude for our nation and what You have done in America all these years, we give You thanks and we give You praise.
 
We know that You are king supreme in America, and we’re thankful that You have chosen to bless this nation in all of Your sovereign grace and mercy. Now is the time, we know, to rededicate ourselves to You, to consecrate ourselves unto You, which means that we give our lives unconditionally to You.
 
We offer our lives to You, and we pray, O God, that as we repent and receive Your grace and Your mercy in our lives, that we would rise to live holy lives, godly lives, Christ-centered lives.
 
We pray for those who lead us in our nation, and specifically today we pray for our Senate. We pray for those who are serving in the U.S. Senate. We pray that You would give them wisdom and understanding and knowledge and insight. We pray that they would pass godly and righteous laws. We pray specifically that they would stand for the sanctity of life and for truth and a Biblical worldview as they govern our nation. We ask that each senator would turn to You, that they would know Your salvation and experience Your love and Your grace.
 
And let this be the prayer for all of us today, that we would know You and love You, and as we know You, that we would make You known. We pray for souls to be saved, for lives to be changed, for Your church to rise up in our own generation and take the message of hope to every person across America and around the world.
 
So, Lord, we give ourselves to You, we surrender our lives to You, and we ask that You move in our hearts, move in our churches, move in our homes, move in our families, bringing healing and hope and life and greatness to America for the next 250 years until You come again.
 
For we pray this in the Name of Jesus, amen.”
