One Prayer From Each State For Our Nation For Fifty Days: Day 45

 


Contender’s Edge, through July 4^th will be sharing each day a prayer, on behalf of our nation, from a representative from each of our fifty states.  The event began on May 15^th and will end July 4^th.

One Prayer From Each State For Our Nation For Fifty Days: Day 45
 
 
Mitch Kimbrell, Pastor of Christ Memorial Church in Williston, Vermont:
 
 
 
“Hi, I’m Mitch Kimbrell, the senior pastor of Christ Memorial Church here in the beautiful Green Mountain State of Vermont. And I’m grateful to represent Vermont in these 50 days of prayer on occasion of our country’s 250th birthday. Would you pray with me, please?
 
Our Father, we thank You for the United States of America, and we thank You that our country has enshrined in her Constitution the right to religious freedom. We thank You that we can gather freely to worship You through the Lord Jesus Christ, and we thank You that we can worship You according to our Scripture-informed consciences. We pray that You would preserve this freedom in our land.
 
Father, as I pray from the first state in the country to enshrine so-called reproductive freedom in a state constitution, would You please end the scourge of abortion, not only here in Vermont, but all throughout the United States of America? We pray Your blessings on pregnancy resource centers as they look to minister the Gospel to those who come to them. I pray that You’d give the leaders of these resource centers wisdom to bring in clients and to minister the Good News of salvation through Jesus Christ to them.
 
Father, we pray, as Your Word tells us to pray, for all those who rule in high places so that we might live quiet and peaceful lives, godly and dignified in every way. Father, we pray for those at the national and the state and the local levels who appear to be outside of the Lord Jesus Christ. We pray You’d grant them salvation—saving faith in Jesus. We pray that they would punish evildoers, that they would reward those who do well, as You measure those who do well. We pray that we would submit to them in accordance with Your will.
 
And, Father, more than anything else, we’re asking You to send revival. From a region where You have ministered great revivals in the past, please do it again. And we know that You would impact things like abortion and things like godly legislators and righteous rule again, if You sent revival.
 
So please do that for the sake of the Lord Jesus Christ, in whose Name we pray, amen.”
