One Prayer From Each State For Our Nation For Fifty Days: Day 46

 

Contender’s Edge, through July 4^th will be sharing each day a prayer, on behalf of our nation, from a representative from each of our fifty states.  The event began on May 15^th and will end July 4^th.

One Prayer From Each State For Our Nation For Fifty Days: Day 46
 
 
Jonathan Falwell, Pastor of Thomas Road Baptist Church in Lynchburg, Virginia:
 
 
 
“Heavenly Father, today we come to You with hearts that are heavy because of all that we see taking place in our world.
 
God, we know that this nation—going back in 250 years of our history—Lord, we’ve seen Your hand at work. We’ve seen all of the incredible blessings that You have poured out in our lives.
 
And so, God, today we recognize, as Psalm 33 tells us, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.” Lord, I pray that today we would be a nation that once again would seek You, seek Your wisdom and Your direction.
 
Lord, I pray today for our House of Representatives. Lord, from individuals from all of the states who gather together in Washington, Lord, to deliberate on important issues and topics that lead us and guide our great nation.
 
God, I pray that You would give them wisdom. Lord, give them direction. Lord, turn their hearts toward You. Lord, help them to see and understand why it is so vitally important that we turn our hearts towards God.
 
Lord, I pray that You would continue to bless this nation. Lord, bless our leaders, our president, vice president, senators, congressmen—Lord, all of the individuals that every single day guide the things that happen in Washington and beyond.
 
And God, I pray that we would once again be a nation that truly understands what “one nation under God” is all about.
 
God, we thank You for the gift that You’ve given to us, the gift of Your Son, Jesus, who died and who rose again.
 
And Lord, I pray that we would be a nation that celebrates that truth.
 
In Jesus’ Name we pray, amen.”
