The Final Prayer Of The Fifty Days Of Prayer Event: From Washington D.C.

 


Contender’s Edge, through July 4^th will be sharing each day a prayer, on behalf of our nation, from a representative from each of our fifty states.  The event began on May 15^th and will end July 4^th.

Today is the grand finale:
 
 
Franklin Graham, President and CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina:
 
 
 
“Hello, this is Franklin Graham. This is an important moment in our nation’s history. We are celebrating 250 years as a nation today. And we thank God for bringing us through these many years of trials and wars and hardship. As we look at the provisions, the tremendous achievements that we’ve made, we thank God for it. We would have never made it without God from 1776 to 2026.
 
And I want to thank all of the pastors that have participated in praying for the last 50 days. 50 pastors from all 50 states. You’ve added so much to this, and I just want to say thank you to each and every one of you. And today isn’t the end of the need to pray. We need to pray for our president, we need to pray for those that are in Congress, we need to pray for our judges, our governors. We need to continue to pray.
 
Pray that God would guide and direct and lead them, and pray that our nation will continue to be that beacon of light, that beacon of hope for the world. And the reason it’s a beacon of hope for the world is because of the freedoms that we enjoy in this nation. No other nation on earth
 
has these freedoms, and there are people that want to take those freedoms away. So we need to pray, and that’s what I want to do right now. I want to just have you join me in praying for our nation and thanking God.
 
Our Heavenly Father, we come today to say thank You. Thank You for these 250 years. Thank You for our forefathers. Thank You for the witness that they have been, for the foundations that they set and laid for us. And, Father, we pray that we will be faithful in everything that we do
 
and say, that we will lift up the Name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, and may we not stop
 
thanking Him and giving Him the praise and glory. We would not have made it these 250 years without Your hand. So thank You for Your hand of guidance, direction, and leading us each step of the way.
 
And now, Father, I pray that You’ll forgive us of our sins and cleanse us. And, Father, may we continue to be a beacon of light and hope for a world that is hurting, a world that is in need, a world that is looking to us to free them and to protect them. So, Father, we thank You and we praise You and we give You the glory.
 
We pray for President Trump, we pray for Vice President Vance, we pray for all those that are in leadership, for our Congress, Senate, Father, we pray right now for each and every one, and we ask You for Your help. Guide and direct us. In Jesus’ Name we pray, amen.”
